Adam Shefter: Minnesota Vikings’ chief operating officer Kevin Warren is expected to be introduced Tuesday as the next commissioner of the Big Ten Conference, sources told ESPN’s Mark Schlabach and me. Warren, 55, would become the first African-American commissioner of a Power Five conference.
Very interesting...hadn't heard his name once. The media was WAY off on this one. It was Jim Phillips and a bunch of folks with B1G, Fox Sports or ESPN ties in everything I saw.

That means Mrs. Carlson (Arthur's Mom) will be the REAL Commissioner of the B1G. Arthur was a bit of a figurehead chump who never grew beyond a momma's boy.
Although - one could argue Delaney was a bit of a figurehead chump (and the various B1G Presidents were the REAL commissioners of the B1G) himself.

Could very well be Jim Phillips, AD at Northwestern. Which will be fun, because he's basically NU's version of Dave Brandon, but with far less people who care enough to call him on it.
There are a lot of ADs out there like Brandon. The thing that made DB stand out was that he always wanted to be front and center. If he was as behind-the-scenes as most ADs, he would likely still be here if we wanted to be. Not enough people would know who he is to demand his firing.
I mean, that's pretty much Jim Phillips, too...

Name 3 reasons why you think Jim Phillips is NU's Dave Brandon?
Jim Phillips is one of the most highly regarded ADs in the country, has won AD of the Year, and there is literally nothing about his personality (from what I can tell) that resembles Brandon...who was a douche even on TV. Even on the Fab Five doc Dave Brandon came off like an asshole.
Last I saw Jim Phillips, he was literally helping the trainers carry one of his men's basketball players off the floor when he tore up his knee or something.
Jim Phillips would be a GREAT hire...the name I haven't seen anyone mention that has gotten some Twitter mentions is Gene Smith. THAT would be an abomination.
But back to the original question. 3 reasons. Have you met the guy or something?
