I know I'm an old fogey, but am I wrong to think a public university should be allowed to have at least an audio broadcast?  Somehow just trying to decipher the stats for a game like this (and last night's) doesn't capture the excitement.

For those who'd be willing to review the configuration/design: http://stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=263173&confid=b10

I know you want this guy to make it through the inning and be in line for the W but there won't be a W if you don't go get him now.

Good outing by Cleveland, both starts he’s handled the lineup pretty well 2 times through, the third time has gotten him.  Couldn’t ask for much more out of your number 5 starter.  Weisenburger is going to be asked to eat some innings, need to keep the lead big enough to avoid using BK and weiss.  My guess is Paige will get the nod in game 2 despite throwing 25 pitches yesterday (if we win of coarse).

Pardon my ignorance (and that might take a few minutes), but is this a best-of-3 series? They're talking about tonight and tomorrow.

EDIT: Never mind. I'm looking at the bracket on the B1G website.

So...the three regular starters are out of the question (Kauffman, Criswell, Henry) although Kauffman might be able to go a few innings tomorrow if they get there.

Of the three top long relievers (Weisenburger, Cleveland, Smith) they used the first two in game 1, so Angelo Smith might be asked to go as long as he's able.

Then there are the setup guys (Paige, Keizer) and closer (Weiss).

Paige threw 29 pitches yesterday, so he can probably come back today.

Keizer threw 15 Thursday and 19 Friday, he probably needs a day off.

Weiss is well rested and has gone as much as 3 innings this season.

So I figure the plan is:

(1) Angelo Smith until he gets in trouble

(2) Isaiah Paige ideally getting through 6 or 7 innings

(3) Willie Weiss to close as long as the game is close

(4) Joe Pace or Jack Bredeson ready for mop up if necessary

That would leave Kauffman and Keizer ready to go tomorrow if Michigan can win tonight

I think it’s a toss up between angelo and Paige, but the “until he gets in trouble” is likely to occur in the first couple innings with Angelo.  It might be BK, he’s the best of the three but usually used in high leverage relief situations, I think Bakich holds onto him until he needs him.

I’d like to see Paige get us through the lineup twice and go from there.  Angelo is good in spot duty but he’s not consistent enough to get through a lineup twice.  It’ll be all arms on deck that’s for sure.

For now... go gophers! Force a “game 2” which probably wouldn’t be able to be played today due to curfew (10pm first pitch), meaning they’d have to play before the championship game.  Oh and also because Fuck Ohio... I hope Ms Wesson isn’t trolling here, she might get mad that I swore.
