Baseball outlasts EMU in 13 innings
Another classic in the longtime rivalry between Washtenaw County baseball teams.
#23 Michigan took on EMU today at Ray Fisher Stadium.
Jonathan Engelmann put Michigan up 1-0 in 2nd inning when he grounded into a double play, which scored Jake Bivens.
In the 7th, EMU would tie the game on a two out RBI single that was a near out at the plate by Harrison Wenson who apparently did not make the tag.
The started at 4pm and would end at 7:50pm when Jonathan Engelmann scored Jake Bivens from 2nd on an RBI double to give Michigan the 2-1 win in the 13th inning.
Michigan is now 26-7 with a 6-3 B1G record.
Next up is a 3-game non-conference series with #11 Oklahoma at Ray Fisher Stadium beginning on Thursday at 4pm.

RIP Bob Welch
Not sure if college rules are different than MLB, but hitting into a double play doesn't earn an RBI.

Just a heads up, but you don't get an RBI if you hit into a double play. Glad to see the team win a close game. Those types of wins certainly help later in the season.
