Balas: Basketball may not return until 2/18

Submitted by woosterwolverine1224 on February 3rd, 2021 at 9:17 AM

This may get lost in the Signing Day shenanigans, but according to Balas, looks like men's basketball may not return until FEBRUARY 18th...hopefully this doesn't mean the team is having COVID issues, and rather they are going to try to snag some practice and conditioning time once they are allowed to.

SOURCES: Michigan basketball won't play its Feb. 11 home game with Illinois, and the Wisconsin game Feb. 14 is up in the air. The first game back might be Feb. 18 at Rutgers. More ... #GoBlue https://t.co/Pm0ccrSijD

This could be a Death Knell for a B10 Title if they go almost a Month without practicing or playing...The Only hope is the other contenders lose 2 or  more times so we have a 4 game cushion before resuming but thats a TALL ORDER..What a shame it would be to lose a B10 title because of a overreaction

In the absolute, we were heading to a difficult game vs Illinois (And very important), the following game as well.
With a limited practice time and no rythme.

Either:
- The B1G cancel (or postpone) the tourney and Michigan can play those game later.
- The B1G regular is played on a Win % and therefore not playing Illinois sounds great.

At that point, I would rather see them not playing Illinois.

That would be nice for us, but you gotta remember all of these schools having their own games and others to make up and the NCAA tournament has a start date, meaning the Big Ten Tourney has to have a hard start date. Gotta get em in when you can, and at this point I’ll be surprised if we get them all in before post season.

I really don't know how people who stay negative and who never had exposure to the UK-exposed person are not able to go about their (socially distanced) business.

Also I thought I remembered the initial state order saying teams could test themselves out of being locked down by staying negative; the stoppage was to make sure it didn't spread before they were looking for it.

I must have missed a lot of explanations.

If we lose a Big Ten Title  because of Warde Manuel  and its a overreaction it would be time to Dave Brandon him
