Article - Coach Zordich talks cornerbacks

Coach Zordich mentioned academics twice in this article. I respect that so much, and it reflects what I see as the integrity of the Michigan program. No program is perfect. But, I like to hear about coaches holding players accountable for the student aspect of being a student/athlete.

March 4, 2016. I feel that that's the day for when I started to lose my mind.

Ever since, I've been thinking of things that probably will never happen, and I can't stop. No matter what I do or say.

Zordich really does seem like the type of coach who gets on players for not going to class or taking the opportunities given to them for granted, and I respect the hell out of that.  I don't get a sense he's overly preachy or anything, but "hey, stop shitting around and take this seriously" is absolutely the mindset I think most college students need to be reminded of once or twice (lord knows I needed it).

Our secondary gets burned a lot by good QBs. That may be more of the DC fault who tries to put pressure on the QB but leaves single coverage against fast WR? But it is good he stresses academics.

If you manage to pair a good QB with talented receivers they will score and there is nothing you can do about it.  See:  every successful modern offense, ever.

Most programs don't have All-American DTs or a bus full of 5-star cornerbacks, although lately Michigan seems to think they don't even need warm bodies at either position.

I drank a few beers with Zordich several years back the night before a satellite camp. Very cool laid back dude! We mainly talked about his playing days with Philly.
