I'm old so I also think of him as Iowa coaching legend.

He had such a turbulent end of career (later revealed to be depression and behavioral changes brought on by a stroke) I guess I assumed he was no longer with us. (Sorry, Lute)

Sad day for me. I went to UofA for undergrad right when Coach O retired (btw, not the brightest moment for Arizona basketball). He is definitely revered on the Arizona campus in the same vein that Bo seems to be revered on the UM campus. In many ways, they were very similar. Total coaching legends who surprisingly didn't have as much championship success as you'd think. Revered for their teaching, mentorship, passion, and commitment to their players. I'm happy he was able to pass in peace after years of health problems and depression.
