Another Harbaugh recruiting thread??? This one actually has new names!!!

Submitted by Bo Schemheckler on

So we all know Clark may be coming back and that Iman Marshall is now considering but 247 sports has been hitting the Harbaugh train hard and have so far come up with the names  Janarius Robinson (4* DE, FSU commit), Josh Imatorbhebhe (4* WR), Liam Eichenberg (5* OT) and Jordan Woods (4* DE). All of them have said that they are now interested in Michigan or that Michigan is back in it for them. All of the articles about them are pay-walled but you can get the names at least without $$$$. It should also be noted that these are all 2016 guys

No idea who Josh Imatorbhebhe is or if he's any good, but I'd be prepared to offer him a schoolue based on that name alone.

However,  we should probably wait until Ace provides his normal kick ass Recruiting update. For the first time in many months we all will actually want to read it.

The comments section there will be very interesting.

I wonder how familiar Harbaugh is with our current roster/commits/offerees at this point. I would imagine being an alum he's more familiar than the average bear. Certainly more so than Rich Rod was coming in. If Brian's report is accurate that Harbaugh watched the OSU game with a bunch of other alums out west, I would guess he has a head start on the current roster.

I imagine not very familiar at all with recruits.  Dude has a laser focus on his team at all times - it was 49ers all year man until these past 10 days or so.  I am sure he knows the generic things about the current team like any fan.  But I bet within 48 hrs he knows everything there is to know about the recruits past and present!

Dude we might have 90 guys trying to get our 20 slots in 2016.  Not worried about it.  Lets focus on 2015. :)  2016 can begin Feb 16th or whateverr.

Yes I hope that is true. I know I'm in the minority, but fuck that guy. Poaching recruits from Ohio St like we did Kalis is fine, just the way that guy decommited and ran to Ohio St of all teams when things weren't going well really rubbed me the wrong way. I hope Harbaugh makes an example out of Weber.

before I was anywhere near "maybe it could happen" regarding Harbaugh. I know osu hired it's way into CT to get a voice on those kids but if you're Weber and grew up a really big UM fan only to go to osu because UM was literally doing what it had to do to land a top 5 coach at any level? HUGE mistake. I just wanted him to stick to his word of waiting until the AA game/after talking to the new UM coach. However, he may stick to osu & it's his life so best to him, at osu or if something brings him back.

I thought iwas Damien Harris who stated that on TomVH tweet...

To get Weber back in the fold is John Kelly (Weber's best friend and most likely to commit to Michigan)...

Though people state that they do not want him back.. I do for 2 reasons:

1) Locks up Cass Tech from Ohio... They developed a nice pipeline (though I think it could disappear with Herman gone as well)

2) He is a prototypical RB that Michigan would want...

Now, the question is did he decommit because he saw no direction with Hoke...  I concur with several that he should not have committed and should have waited.. But kids made decisions with what they know and have.. My feeling is that he commit to assure a spot in the Ohio's class.. But that could change now.... Personally, I would like him flip so Urbie gets no RB this classs (well, not premiere RBs of this year's class)

Before you go disparaging Weber (he is still a kid after all), keep in mind that Harbaugh and Thomas Wilcher were teammates for 4 years. I'm not sure exactly how close they were, but that kind of bond could go a long way to brining back Weber and to solidfying the Cass pipeline for years to come.

we will have a decent class now...a really good class in terms of quality (which is nothing new) plus numbers.

If kids start changing their minds from (fill in name of big-name schools) to Michigan, watch out.

Imagine Harbaugh, sitting in the living room of a 5* QB showing strong interest in OSU.  He calmly clears his throat, smooths the wrinkles of his Khacki's (Brooks Bros, I hope) and briefly looks out the picture window at his Rover sitting in the driveway.

Harbaugh: "You're a good student. And you've had a great high school athletic career.  I'm sure you'll compete well in major Division I football no matter where you go.  Ohio State is a powerful program and has placed a number of guys in the pros. You're on the right track if you're considering Coach Meyer."

Recruit: "Yes, sir.  I agree."

Harbaugh:  "But let me ask you a question before I leave - and I say this with utmost respect for Coach Meyer - how many passes has he thrown in the NFL?"

Recruit: [laughs nervously] "Umm..Tebeau was...ugh...."

Harbaugh: "Right.  And Alex Smith won some games for him at Utah.  He won a few for me in San Fran.  But I won a few more once I found my guy. Man - you should see the place he bought after signing that new deal. Oh - hey - did you have Andrew Luck on your fantasy team this year?  You should have...."  [turns to the Recuit's mother and smiles]  "Ma'am - thank you very much for welcoming us into your home."
