All can still be right with the world

Ok so I'm still obsessing #cantstop #wontstop Bold prediction: Michigan is #5 #6 in AP and coaches respectively. IF we are 5 in CFP poll Tuesday, Washington can lose to Colorado and Penn St wins big ten, goes to rose bowl. Rankings could legitimately be: Alabama OSU Clemson Michigan Alabama vs Michigan Clemson vs. OSU National championship Michigan vs OSU neutral field with unbiased refs Get the rematch we wanted in 2006. Universe is righted, all existential realms are rejuvenated for millions of lives (including my own) College Football playoff committee is jointly awarded Nobel prize for peace ✌️

Conference winners may end up with the same number of losses as M, but they will have an extra win, which is exactly how UF jumped us in '06. I hate to say it but I don't see the playoffs happening this year guys.

I am not sure if it is in the rules or not, but I don't think there is any way they will take three from the same conference.  They are hesitant to take two (unless maybe from the SEC) and I think they will want to include tOSU. So the easy way out for them to CYA for this year and future would be for them to take the B1G champion, too, or not at all.

The only way I see it happening for Michigan is if Clemson, Washington, and Wisconsin ALL lose their games this weekend, and they say they are going to focus on the four teams that pass the "Eye Test", in which case I am not sure who would qualify for the fourth team, though if that happened they would seed Michigan #4 at best, and a lot of conferences would be pretty pissed off .

So, do we cross our fingers and hope that Clemson, Washington, and Wisconsin lose and somehow the committee they can't keep Michigan out?

Or do we root for Clemson, Washington, and Wisconsin to win and that they are in and OSU is shut out?

Yes, OSU beat Wisconsin (in overtime, which really should be discounted, but I doubt if it is), and they lost to Michigan. But if the narrative is Michigan and OSU are so close that it wouldn't seem right to include one but not the other, they might say the conference championship should take precedence, and exclude both.

Of course if the true purpose was simply to determine the "best" team in college football, Alabama should be crowned as what is obviously the best the team from what we've seen so far if they win on Saturday, and no playoff would be necessary. Of course this can not be allowed to happen (too much money left on the table that way), so we have to go through a playoff-tournament to determine what is actually a small tournament champion.

So then the question becomes, "Who are the most deserving teams to be in a playoff?" Or should the question rather be, "Who are the best four teams in the US?"; in other words, "Who would have the best chance to challenge the Alabama on December 31st or January 10th. A good case could be made for Michigan (and Ohio State, Clemson, and Washington (if you close your eyes and don' look at the USC game). For that matter If you ask who else might be the most dangerous team right NOW, many would probably say, USC, although they already played Bama early in the season and got beaten pretty badly.

If you are looking at worthiness for a whole season of work, should probably Western Michigan- because at least they are still perfect, so should probably be included, or at least more difficult to deny.

Would love to see this happen, but don't think it will.  If Penn State wins the Big Ten they will most likely jump us in the rankings.  Yes I know they beat us, but they will have the same record as us, won the Big Tn title and have a recent victory over a top ten team.  No way that we get in and they dont.
