2021 QB Discussion
Just saw that Texas had a Freshman qb (Ja'Quinden Jackson) enter the portal and it got me thinking about our QB situation going into next season.
If you were in charge of the team (since who knows who will be) are you rolling with Milton, McNamara, McCarthy and Villari? Are you looking for a transfer?
We saw very little of a healthy Milton or McNamara behind a healthy line that it seems hard to know what we have there.

Milton will most likely transfer. Leaving JJ, McNamara and Dan. You need someone else. Michigan should absolutely look at the transfer portal. Before Dylan transferred you would have assumed you had Dylan, Milton, McNamara, Dan, and JJ. Plus Dan is already a replacement for Johnson. So Michigan really needs to utilize the portal for a QB, NT, and a secondary guy. Kind of like the player we brought in from Utah when Harbaugh first got here.

A lot of this feels like legacy issues on offense. Michigan never should have gone spread if they weren't going to embrace its advantages (tempo, numbers in the running game, etc.). I would just as soon have Harbaugh just run his "manball" offense and be unique in comparison to the rest of football. QB is important, but it seems secondary to the staff getting its shit together and getting on the same page.

I'm rolling with McNamara. He's a solid 4 star recruit and has the tools to develop into a quality starting QB. I have two problems with Milton. One he can't read a defense very well. Second he's not accurate enough to lead a major power 5 program. McNamara will allow us to be competitive enough to win all of our games except OSU. Please do say JJ McCarthy. He will be a freshman and we've wasted enough time counting on freshmen to help win us football games. There are only a few freshmen that can come in a play right away and be successful. That's why we have redshirts.

QB McNamara, put Milton at TE. Milton is definitely big enough if he’s willing to take a hit.
Been there done that with the transfer portal thing. If Harbaugh sticks around, hope he is to.
We watched McNamara at the “spring game” in 2019. He was amazing. I hope he gets a shot. We’ve also got JJ waiting in the wings.
