One Frame At A Time: Indiana
We’re just gonna wipe the bad taste of the officiating off our mouths with some good ol’ fashioned gifs. Shall we?
Honorable Mentions:
I Just Wanted A Hug
Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better
You Missed One, O-Line
Darius TD1
McGregor Powersack
Hitting Holes + Late Hitting
10. Ronnie Bell Has Hops
Sometimes I use a phrase and my wife looks at me like “is that a thing or did you just make that up because you’re a nerd?” The phrase “has hops” is 100000% one of those phrases. Regardless, hopping. Ronnie can do the hopping. Up high. Also he can block. So.
9. It Counts In My Heart
I love the reaction of the LT here after he gets got. In my mind he’s standing there looking down like “where did he go?!?!?!” in a panic until he realizes he’s nipping at the QB’s ankles already.
8. 3rd Down Blitzes Are A Good Time
Solid double team there. Really great decision to let us through unblocked. 10/10 would recommend.
7. Buffs Time
I love how this is directly after the play where Okie tipped it a million times and missed out on the turnover Buffs, but he’s still double fist in the air excited for his man Rod to grab them instead. Also if you didn’t read the title of this one in Brandy’s voice then now you did. You’re welcome.
6. DOG PILE!!!!!!!
I can only assume this is what Mike said as he disappeared into the abyss.
5. Spin Sacks Are The Best Sacks
At least for gif purposes. Rewatchability is high.
4. Indiana Is Bad At Two-Hand Touch
Every single defensive player except maybe the two DL on the bottom of the screen at the beginning of the play are within arms-reach of Corum at some point during this play. Only two actually touch him: one at the LOS and one at the goal line. That’s insane.
3. This One’s For You, Coach
At this point we’re treated to at least one requisite Hart run per game by Corum. This one had a bit more meaning to it. Get well soon, Coach!
2. Woodson-esk
Yeah I said it. I mean, it’s not exact and it isn’t an interception but the angle and the one foot and the yellow pants on the road at least gave me some really fun flashbacks.
Frame of the Game: Confidently Wrong
I love everything about this. By this point in the 4th quarter, I was VERY sick of these refs. This sequence is pure beauty. The emphatic tap on the ground, followed by three (3) incomplete motions, only to be overturned because wait you thought Schoonmaker didn’t catch that ball? What are you blind? Oh wait.
POLL FOR THIS WEEK
(sorry, I keep forgetting to add an other option to these)
Winner from last week: Jack Campbell Who?
Apparently 43% of you hate sick children and love sick jukes. I’m okay with that I guess. It’s my fault for putting you such a position.

Is anyone else unable to get the gifs to play? Or maybe my internet is just being dumb right now…

They work when I view them. Thanks for posting them!

Normally, I'd vote for "Bad at Two-Handed Touch" (what a great caption, and fun insight) or "Confidently Wrong" (movies have dramatic flips all the time, bad guy getting shown up, but we rarely get them so explicit in real life).
However, "This One's For You, Coach" feels right right now.

So many good ones this week

Voted for Confidently wrong because it highlights the disturbing nature of the call. I always find it problematic when a ref in any sport makes a call in such an emphatic manner that it seems like he or she is cheering. Calls should certainly be made in a clear and confident manner, and in cases where the play needs to stop repetition may be warranted. But this. Where the play is dead, the ref enthusiastically signals no catch 3 times? Makes you wonder.
