Say what you will about what's become of this team's Muppet standards, but let it not be said that this team is out. Win Jettless by double digits at the RAC? When you only had one bucket in the game's first 8 minutes? You get the Muppets.

And you can't have one without the other.

Mmmmm sweet margin for error.

The way the game started my mind went to the darkness of another blowout road loss.  But then we matched Rutgers' defensive intensity and then exceeded it.  And proceeded to blow them out down the stretch.  Incredible defensive effort tonight in a really tough environment.  Timely buckets ground down Rutgers.  It was gritty.  We needed this win and got it.

Is this like fans storming the field after a win and everyone else is like, RELAX, it was a good win but not storm the field worthy.  Maybe.  But I'll take it, that was a BIG win.

I know we are all down on this season and predicting doom but we are playing well right now. 5-2 this month. We may come up short on the tournament but we are building. Dickinson has hinted at coming back. I believe Kobe will come back and play himself into the lottery. And I think Juwan will convince Jett to be a part of something really good next season. The Howards dont need that NBA money right now. Jett only has one more year in his life to play with his brother. It makes too much sense. Couple those studs with the growth of Dug and Tarris and we have final four potential.

I noted this after MSU but this game won't go down as a "close win" for all of those stupid "Michigan can't win in the clutch" takes but make no mistake that this was as gritty a win as we've seen around here for a couple of years.

Again, it may be too little, too late but if UM makes the tourney some poor 6 seed is going to run into a bad matchup.

Likely going to need one more road win either against Illinois or Indiana, then hope for a #5 seed in the BTT to get those 3 wins we need. 

Winning the BTT tourney is possible but just don't see it IMO. Either way our team played with urgency tonight and it was very refreshing.

If they go 12-8 in conference they should be in.  Might be the bubble but outside of the Big 12 none of the major conferences are that strong and the Big 10 has a lot of solid OOC wins.  I can't see the committee taking a bunch of teams with worse conference records, including in the B10, over UM.

But gotta win against Wisconsin and IU or Illinois first.

They may have waited too long to hit their stride, but nobody can say they gave up and they seem to managed to find their way to peaking and giving themselves a chance.
