but seeded fifth behind Illinois based on the head-to-head loss.

However, if Penn State beats Minnesota, then Michigan moves into fourth because that brings into play their sweep of Penn State and PSU's 1-1 record against the other two teams. It would flip Illinois and Michigan (3-2 and 4-1 vs. the tied group respectively), and drop little brother to 7th thanks to their loss to Iowa (PSU was 1-0 against Iowa).

So, it really depends on which color uniform you want to see them wear against Illinois in Indianapolis.

can't wait for Hoke to bitch slap dantonio back to little brother status officially, and the big brother doesn't need a counter cause we should be winning anyway.  I can't remember sweeping MSU in basketball in a long time, this is the best result we've had in a while.

I was 99% sure that Lucas was going to surgically remove our heart with about 9 Minutes to go.

Way to hang on Blue.  Huge.

I had the same feeling as the game progressed, but it looked like we had a whole team playing against one player.

A +1 to anyone referencing 'The Shining' in any way, shape, form, or fashion.

On to accountability:  congrats to UM, they played well and beat my Spartans, much to my chagrin.  I talked some smack pre-game about how MSU would beat UM handily; it's only fair that I post to eat my crow.  Tastes like chicken...

UM came out and made the first run- all this time, I thought MSU would understand the importance of that and try to go up early.  That's what I get for thinking, and I'll take my medicine like a man.

But I hate the Muppets. I really do. And yes, I am old enough to know of them.. I just never thought they were interesting as a kid.. and espeically not now. My brother on the other hand loves this Muppets stuff on this site.. he says its the nostalgic factor more than anything. Oh well, to each their own.. GO BLUE!

oh wait.. the Muppet Babies were pretty cool! >.>

I've been saying all year I'm excited for the future of this program. Morris had finally figured it out, Novak and Douglas games looked improved all-around and Tim Hardaway had shown flashes of being really, scary good. Starting 1-6 in conference didn't inspire a lot of confidence for the rest of the year. I thought that hole would be too large to climb out of...

And now here we are. 19-12, 9-9 in the toughest conference in the nation, with a season sweep of Sparty. No one believed we'd be here. I'm still extremely excited for the future of this program, but it looks like I shouldn't have thrown away this year so soon.

Nice to see the fans not rushing the court after the game.  Glorious win, but keep it in perspective.  Some other things I doubt we'll see as a result of this sweep.

  1. Billboards being erected around the area gloating
  2. Wax-chested frat boys showing up at future games with artificial streak lengths painted on their bodies
  3. Head coaches gloating or making snarky remarks in victory.

It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine.

Im in Athens (yta) and I haven't seen them celebrate a victory over the Spartans like this since Alcibiades. Well, some may be out there because it's the Greek Mardis Gras but I think most are just Michigan fans. On to the Peloponnesian League tournament!

Early in mgohistory Brian discovered YouTube videos of the muppets singing "Temptation" and (because by Michigan tradition "you can't have one without the other,") "Hawaiian War Chant." These became, back when such occurrences were quite regular, the standard victory post, kind of like how the band will play that mock-you version of the victors after a win. Muppets are thus the heralds of great things for Michigan sports.

With BBall turned around... and the Hoke and Mattison signing. i've never been more excited for MICHIGAN athletics. I can't wait to see Denard take another knee in the end zone next season. I also believe if the bball team hits its threes in the tourney they can make a solid run in it.
