Exit Aubrey Solomon Comment Count

This is Not Good:

Former five-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon has asked for and received his release from the Michigan Football program, 247Sports independently confirmed on Monday morning.

Solomon was probably in line to start at nose tackle this year until an injury knocked him out for the first half of the season; he missed another game due to an illness and never seemed quite right. He was an almost certain starter next year at a spot that Michigan is suddenly extremely thin at. Mike Dwumfour might move over but he was a very bad run defender last year; Donovan Jeter is entering his third year and should be playable. That concludes NTs currently on the roster. If you were to pick a player to be the most damaging transfer he'd be high on the list.

So that's fun.

Harbaugh is weird. He wears on people and they get burned out. He has some old school methods like valuing toughness and therefore punished guys who sit out with injuries. Downvote all you want, it’s the truth. These things were addressed when he was hired. Might be time to find a player friendly coach with a 21st century offense.

Agreed, this not good.  But after Aubrey had his appendectomy, something changed and he definitely lost something ... his desire, his health, his 5-star quality ... definitely something happened to him which was not good.

Wish him well in his future and hope he finds what he needs.

Some kids ascend like Winovich and some kids regress for whatever reason.  Regardless, these guys are our guys so we should wish Aubrey well for his future.  I thought he got a raw deal health-wise and he might be just looking for a fresh start.  Maybe coaches can win him back as he would definitely be welcomed back on the team.

Aubry was one of my favorite dudes, love his story and his hard work ethic. Don't know what's going on but I'm sad.

That said Michigan will go on. It probably won't help much next year (maybe some, who knows), but we do have 2 of the top 4 DT's in the 2019 class committed to Michigan. As much as I hate to say it, Michigan is building more of a legacy than it has been over the last decade, and if some guys fall off, the program seems to be continuing on.

Our entire problem is that we are playing kids too early and this was due to the disaster years before Harbaugh where we do not have the depth to let kids develop for a couple of years. Hopefully Harbaugh will begin to build depth where we RS our players, and they do not become starters until they are RS Sophomores or Juniors. Then you will not have half your team leaving for the NFL and nobody to fill in when they leave. I have no idea why Solomon left but if he has that type of attitude and does not like Michigan or want to be part of the team, then so long!  Negative attitudes can start affecting the entire team.

So here are another couple of 'immediate' aspects how this sucks. 1. I assume this means he's not even going to play in the bowl, so being down an available body for the game is a definite negative. 2. Timing, really? Was this timed for most potential damage? 2 days before early signing?  It had to go public now? Not later this week?  Let Wed morn pass and then go public.

This one hurts, no doubt, but I look at a lot of these others, and while it does seem the attrition is high? Seems to be a number that aren't exactly lighting the world on fire after they've moved on. As for some (Samuels) I'm totally good cutting ties quickly. We also don't know what kind of negative attitude some of these kids may have. If they aren't 'all in' then let em go. Maybe they thought that getting to a level like AL was just a matter of having 'them'. Harbaugh wants 'team' players. Maybe some of them are only now really realizing what 'team' really means for the first time in their lives and it isn't what they imagined.

All is said and done, we'll still be just fine. "Those who stay" GO BLUE!

It's really fucking sickening and disgusting to hear the speculative slander and besmirchment of character from you fake views (tm) dick suckers of macho authoritarians, based on NOTHING other than the blind hero worship of "your" leader, and the default auto blaming of everyone that leaves or is kicked off without knowing, wanting to know or being willing to hear and know that the inmates/slaves/serfs might be the victims/aggrieved and the jailor/master/Lord might be the problem.

You don't even allow the possibility Harbaugh is the problem so you just start smearing the players with made up scenarios, assuming the worst about them with no evidence while ignoring, with Harbaugh, what you all would consider a mountain of damning evidence or indications of a problem person if it were about the players!!!!

Maybe soon you'll all be gagging, choking and puking on that big dick you're sucking if it turns out it was actually a big asshole the whole time!

Folks, if this does not force Harbaugh to adjust his philosophy to an offense that can and will score 40 points a game, I don't know what will.

The "body blow" game is over . . . softening up your opponent with long but empty possessions in the hope of a big 4th quarter while you're counting on your defense to hold the other team to 10 points through 3 quarters.

Forget it.

It did not work against elite teams, and now it won't work against anybody.

Michigan needs an offense that can keep pace and score points.  It's going to have to win some big games purely on offense next year.

Whether that's your preferred philosophy or not.

Losing his starting job, inability to get healthy and being homesick are probably the reasons. I’m thinking he transfers to UGA or Tennessee(Tracy Rocker relationship)

There are likely many reasons we can debate regarding why these transfers might happen, and if there is a larger trend to blame. Although, IMHO one of the biggest we may often overlook that likely impacts more of them than most, is that as a UMichigan athlete, one also needs to attend school. Not sure I can definitively say that about other top 15 programs...maybe Notre Dame, maybe Stanford, maybe Texas? Maybe...

I think that is one of the big advantages that Ohio State has over Michigan in recruiting.

From Andy Katzenmoyer to Adolphus Washington to Cardale Jones . . . they make it clear in word and deed that you do not have to do any academic work.  Somebody will "take care of that" for you.

You can just hang out for a few years on your way to the NFL.
