For Anyone Who's Ever Known a Penn State Fan
I forgot I promised Brian to do a post about this before I went ahead and launched it in Guess the Score. Anyway, meet my favorite shirt we've ever made except maybe the Space Emperor ones. Zoom? Zoom:

1993: Four stops from the 1 to preserve an eight-point victory was just a fluke.
1997: No player who went somewhere other than PSU can be THAT good and also THAT good. You say he didn't take money huh? Why does he hate money? Is he a Communist?
1998: Nobody can get into a backfield that quickly, especially against PSU's All-Americans at OL; Renes and Hall and Feazell and Sword and Irons were offsides all game.
1999: Everyone knows ten points is a safe enough 4th quarter lead against Tom Brady.
2000: It's inconceivable that five future NFLers just happened to be good at blocking.
2001: There's no way all that talent comes from having won a national championship 4 years earlier. Marquise Walker just came out of nowhere.
2002: The more obvious 30-yard pass on 3rd-and-12 that Bryant didn't catch on that same drive doesn't matter; the 20-yard one he did catch does.
2005: It's okay to put 2 seconds on the clock for JoePa when he asks, but not for Carr when he asks a minute later. /rage-quits Big Ten.
2006:
This was probably dirty. Also if a Pennsylvania boy goes to Michigan he was probably paid. Breaston was told he couldn't play quarterback at Penn State. Yeah, that's the ticket.
2007: They spent that week preparing for Henne, not his backup.

Nobody's saying it should be taken down or anything, just some people don't find it funny. And those some people, is all in all only like 40 people. Which we all know is a tiny tiny fraction of this sites readership, so you're bitching over nothing

Seth, (From one who agreed with the crowd on this, loves the Blues Brothers (I was in college at the time it first came out), has been a U-M fan for 25 years, knows a lot of Penn State fans (seems to be a lot of alums at U-M), & really appreciates the great work that Brian, you and others do at MGoBlog) I'm sry that this hit a tender spot. As someone whose hard work has been slammed many times over the years (work often taking years of effort); believe me, I get the pearls-before-swine rage. Still, it's never a good idea to post while angry, even if justified.
Also, I admit that there were a couple of "dickish" comments above, but I just looked things over and most comments lacked vitriol and were merely a stating of opinion. People's reactions to the shirt, even if dumb, are still important information for people who are thinking about purchasing the shirt, particularly if they are not the "Deal with It" type and might not want to get it if some people will it dumb, others may find inappropriate and many will just not get the joke. It doesn't matter if it's because those people are idiots, since almost everyone is a situational idiot/Philistine/jerk.
However, I mainly wanted to say, though I'm admittedly reading between the lines, I think most of the above critics think you folks are great, and did not mean this to be personal. We of course could be wrong -- It's a Wonderful Life was not a box office success, they canceled FireFly and the cirtics only liked "Double Fantasy", which I feel is by far Lennon's best solo album, after he was killed. I'm not suggesting that you go quite that far to get us to like the shirt, tho.

I'm surprised with you guys. People who read college football blogs have never heard Penn State fans bitch about the 2 seconds on the clock? I'm asking this as a serious question and not rhetorical.
That's the part that killed me because Penn State fans will complain about that, and that's the line that tipped off the joke for me.

I also don't see how this is any more of an inside joke than Tacopants or Panic with Brian Cook's face. I'll be honest I'm not buying this shirt because tenured professors are expected to wear jackets with patches on the elbows and cardigan sweaters, but of all the shirt designs to nitpick...this is probably the funniest shirt they've ever made.

it's a lot to ask out of a t-shirt joke. I think people need to look at it in 5 seconds and get it. And this requires a lot of reading to even figure out what it's about.
The problem is, to some extent every fanbase whines about bad calls. Are PSU fans generally perceived at whiners to the extent that they are aware of this repetutation? Maybe they are - I'm just njot sure.
That's the only way it wll work on them. Michigan/ND fans are called arrogant, and we as Michigan fans know about this reputation, so a joke about it will work.

Well people bought it--not a ton but enough it was worthwhile and not so many that I won't feel hipster-cool for having one.
Anyway after Countess's interception made it a proper Jug Score I'm done being a whiny bitch about my whiny bitch shirt.
