Headline from Everyone's Favorite Newspaper - Caution.
No Surprises, Nothing Positive Here:
I see this going one of two ways, I either get negged to oblivion for visiting "that website" and then posting a screenshot of the frontpage on a Thursday night before game night (OMG Rabble Rabble); OR, people appreciate the increased blood pressure that I caused by posting said screenshot. Discuss and Enjoy!
On a bright note, though, now you don't have to be curious about what they said/posted and visit their site!
I like under the picture they say we are cleared of one, but have been found to violate another. While techinically true, they sure don't extrapolate on the fact that it was a reduced charge.

We'll miss you, and thanks.
Nice to see GM rebounding, as well.
November 4th, 2010 at 6:40 PM ^
Don't forget a "get well soon" to Aretha as well.
November 4th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
i see what you're doing
November 4th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
46 degrees!? BRRRRRR!!!!
November 4th, 2010 at 6:28 PM ^
are getting removed from the streets of Pontiac, nice to hear.
November 4th, 2010 at 8:52 PM ^
Does this mean MSU doesn't have a team anymore ?
November 4th, 2010 at 9:34 PM ^
No, they'll be back at practice when they make bail
November 4th, 2010 at 6:28 PM ^
Don't forget the Drew Sharp headline right below it - "Michigan shouldn't celebrate results of NCAA report." I don't think I'll read that either.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:35 PM ^
Who's Drew Sharp?
November 4th, 2010 at 6:29 PM ^
And will soon be dead. Rejoice!
November 4th, 2010 at 6:30 PM ^
Journals are scum!

scUM?
November 4th, 2010 at 6:31 PM ^
have to love how they provide the link to practice gate... whatever gets hits for their website and sells papers...

Sophistry
November 4th, 2010 at 6:33 PM ^
I just tried to wipe my ass with that screen shot. Do it every time I see a Freep paper, think it's a defense mechanism. Anyhow now I have to get this screen cleaned up. Thanks!
November 4th, 2010 at 6:33 PM ^
..As the FReep desperately attempts save face. This reminds me of a nine year old getting defensive after you prove his completely unsubstantiated claim wrong, with, you know, fact.
November 4th, 2010 at 6:35 PM ^
I've seen college papers with better sites. Yikes.
November 4th, 2010 at 6:38 PM ^
Just wondering but why would you even visit their website.
RIP Sparky, we'll miss you

Somebody give Aretha a snickers.
November 4th, 2010 at 6:54 PM ^
The Freep has shown no remorse for their indiscretions, right down to the bitter end. The implications of these findings are--indirectly--that the Freep, at best, misled the public or, at worst, flat out lied. Yet no hint of wrongdoing on their part. The worst part of all of this is the Freep's meanness in pursuing this non-story. Their constituency, the residents of Michigan, a huge proportion of which support U-M football, have had to deal with enough real-life economic and social hardships for the past ten years. Why the fuck would you devote so much time and so many resources to depriving us of a recreational pasttime from which we derive joy? That is just a slap in the face to the state. Cruel.
I honestly don't understand why any Michigan fan would pay any business to the Freep--even visiting their website--so long as they maintain this line. With the damage to RR's reputation, I wouldn't blame him for pursuing a defamation suit against them.

Although I do sometimes read freep articles before working out, gets me nice and angry.
November 4th, 2010 at 6:54 PM ^
Damn, its only 46 in Michigan? I feel sorry for you guys, only 82 here!
November 4th, 2010 at 7:06 PM ^
100 in SoCal the last 3 days!

I neg anyone who uses the word "said" as an adjective. I can't help it. It annoys the hell out of me.

November 4th, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
I thought Detroit had only 1 paper, when did this rag start?
November 4th, 2010 at 7:31 PM ^
"Sharp: Michigan shouldn't celebrate results of NCAA report"
I tried to think of a more petty headline than this and couldn't.
Maybe something like, "Sharp: Yeah? Well Rodriguez is a poopyhead!"
November 4th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
really is a dick.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:00 PM ^
earlier about a Drew Sharp article. I didnt know what it was. I clicked on from twitter. Nothing but negativity. They have to spin it to justify theyre horrific "journalism"
November 4th, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
Headline from the Detroit News: "Michigan AD Brandon pleased with NCAA conclusion, will not terminate Rodriguez".
One paper has an agenda to perpetuate, the other does not.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:19 PM ^
"Ex-Pizza CEO and Michigan AD Brandon pleased with NCAA conclusion, not ready to terminate Rodriguez yet"
November 5th, 2010 at 12:21 AM ^
the contrast is comical and the agenda is so bleedingly obvious it makes my head hurt. it's sad really...I used to love reading the free press when I was a kid. now, I only go there to see what new logical fallacy they're trying to employ in an effort to discredit Michigan.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
Remember your Ibsen: a half truth is worse than a lie. Officially a POS rag. TMZ is breaking real news; the MSM is telling half lies.
<br>Credibility sold away to support what obviously had become a failing story. W/out trust, there's no reason to read the local paper. It's certainly not entertaining
November 4th, 2010 at 9:28 PM ^
The Freep published articles under the guise of 'investigative journalism' written by columnists/beat writers. The 'research' and source validation was totally amateur, and allegations bordering (?) on libel. Considering the anti-M bent/contrarian view perpetuated by the Freep writers in the paper (and on the air), should Michigan respond? At least a presser with Dave Brandon giving a really good bitch-slap, or no-Freep ban from the program, or maybe even a lawsuit/investigation? Would love to see the journalistic integrity of these writers get a 'clean scrub' in the same way, with the same vigor and intensity that the M football program just endured..
November 4th, 2010 at 9:48 PM ^
What the hell is freep? Sounds like a communicable disease...
November 4th, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
That might be a nice story about GM, and also about Kwame's aide a little lower on the page. But why are you pointing out those stories on Mgoblog?

hopefully they got 3 more views of there paper to put it to around 100. great job freep on being the worst paper. how are you in business???

November 6th, 2010 at 3:03 AM ^
Before you call all journalists scum, please remember it was journalists at the same newspaper that did bring down that horribly corrupt Kilpatrick administration.
But yeah, there is something askew between the freep and U of M these days.
Used to be you were lucky to be able to use an unnamed source more than once every few months.....several in one story is a bit out of bounds.
