Southern Miss's QB looks pretty good.
September 17th, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
They run an offense a lot similar to ours with the read option being a big part of it.

So Miss is shooting themselves in the foot. Should be 14 - 0.

I'm not starting a Tigers thread but why are the White Sox wearing green? Is it a halfway to St. PAtricks day thing or something?
September 17th, 2010 at 9:03 PM ^
expert - but the White Sox do that halfway to St Patty's day and it is the 17th, so that is probably it.
September 17th, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
Would have definitely taken the under in the Favre reference timeframe
September 17th, 2010 at 9:05 PM ^
Kansas - lose to 1aa w/o scoring a TD, beat a top 25 team, now losing and getting out played by a C-USA(?) team.
Maybe Georgia Tech is just no good.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:24 PM ^
Oh snap! Stop the game , stop the game! My under parlay with the point set at 53 isn't looking as comfortable as it was 2minutes ago!
September 17th, 2010 at 9:27 PM ^
So much for a 3 back punt formation ending any chance to block a punt. USM had two players able to block that kick. Yikes.
So between watching this game and drinking, I'm thinking about heading to Ruston tomorrow to watch Navy at Louisiana Tech in person. I haven't been to a college game since Baylor at Texas 2 years ago. I'm craving input.

Navy is one team I would like to see in person once in my lifetime.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:41 PM ^
I sat in the Navy section at last year's Texas Bowl against Mizzou. Definitely an awesome time.

Never seen Navy play live, but they are one of my absolute favorite teams to watch on TV. Their game against ND last year was my favorite non-UM game of the year. Ran for 350, threw the ball 3 times - one incomplete, one for just a couple yards, and one on the great PA fake of all time (until DRob's on Saturday) for a TD. They're so entertaining, I think, because they don't have the athletes to dominate, so they have to have 11 men working in perfect unison.

Remember when Jeff Tedford was one of the hot coaching names in football? I forgot all about him.
September 17th, 2010 at 10:09 PM ^
He runs a pro-style offense that would fit Michigan's current talent well (and better than, say, Rich Rodriguez' spread option).
September 17th, 2010 at 9:53 PM ^
one of the most overrated coaches in the game right now. He will never and I mean eevvvveer even win an outright Pac 10 title.

7-0 Nevada up on Cal.
September 17th, 2010 at 9:41 PM ^
I thought they would be a LITTLE down without Brian Kelly, but they still had players (Collaros, for one). Is Kelly THAT GOOD, is Butch Jones completely inept, or did Cincy lose more than I thought? Geez, this team was a Texas missing a field goal away to going to the national title game possibly last year. I mean, it is not like Fresno State and NC State are BAD teams, but they are not great, and I would have thought that Cincy would beat them, or at least not lose by much. Man...
September 17th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
and made them better. Cinci did lose quite a bit and Jones spread is a little different then Kelly's so it may take them some time to get use to the change.

In a big time SEC game the defence was the difference. After Saline scored on its opening drive, the Bedford defence shut down the Hornets. Great game for both teams. Bedford travels up 23 to meet Pioneer next Fri. for another big SEC match up.

Dammitall..... Hornets seem to be off to an up & down start. :(
September 17th, 2010 at 9:54 PM ^
like a Jeckel/Hyde team or does Georgia Tech just suck ass?

This is Kaepernick's 8th season as their starting QB, I think.

If So Miss can get a kicker who can drill a kick from 45 yards, why is it so hard for us to find one?!
September 17th, 2010 at 11:03 PM ^
If you want to hype up our offensive coordinator as a HC candidate, you might want to spell his name correctly. Magee, not McGee.
September 17th, 2010 at 11:29 PM ^
They have a time-out left and 6 seconds on the clock. Theyshould run a play to get the ball into the middle of the field before kicking this FG.
September 18th, 2010 at 12:11 AM ^
Nevada and Cal are walking all over each other... but Nevada is great at generating turnovers on defense, too, so they have the edge.

Announcer on Cal RB Vereen (sp):
"He looks winded. He needs a blow."
Probably both true.

All i have to say after watching the Cal-Nevada game is Kevin Riley blows.
