2006: 12-0, B1G Champions, BCS title game
2007: 9-3, B1G Champions, Rose Bowl
2012: 9-3, B1G Legends Division Co-Champions
2015: 10-2, B1G East Co-Champions
2016: 11-1, B1G East Champions
The frustrating part is we have been so freaking close so close so many times and just fall short. Harbaugh should have won in 2016 and 2017. Hoke should have beaten OSU in 2012 and 2013. Lloyd came up short in 2001, 2005, 2006, 2007. But thats just how this rivalry is its always close games but one team seems to dominate as far as record goes. In the 90s we upset OSU so many times but the games were always nailbiters. Even when OSU was bad we never blew them out.
I think the talent gap is roughly what it has always been. Bo out coached the dinosaur that was Woody, did the same to Earl Bruce, Lloyd had the closest talent but still out coached Cooper.
We have to out prepare, out work and use every mental advantage we can leverage to beat Ohio. I’ve never seen the talent equal and I doubt we will.
hell yes
hell yes
By all accounts, we came to play and had a great game plan last Novemeber (and the previous year). It just so happened our QB was historically bad last year for the standards of the rivalry. I'm not trying to unnecessarily shit on O'Korn but he is, in my opinion, the second worst QB to start in the rivalry in my 30+ year lifetime behind Sheridan.
Bellomy never took a snap vs. OSU. Reading comprehension my friend.
Honestly, I don't hold the 2008 game against Sheridan. He knew he was going to get his head bashed in and took the snaps and played the game.
Michigan had another QBs stay home crying like a baby because he wasn't even man enough to stay on the field.
I agree with everything Woodson said. He said exactly what’s been going on lately. Harbaugh made it clear that every game was important. While it is, extra attention is not only needed but warranted for THE game. In public it was made to seem as if it’s any other game, but who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Start winning and none of this shit matters.
Why do you keep insisting that what Harbaugh says in a presser is exaclty what is hapening inside Schembechler Hall?
I think that's a lazy argument. OSU has been better than us for the past 15 years, nothing more nothing less. We've also had some shit luck in these games, but it's not because we aren't taking the game seriously enough. Urban has only blown us out once, despite having much better teams pretty much every year except 2016. It's just that "we're not taking it seriously enough" is easier to say and accept than "they're simply better than we are". With Patterson in the fold now, I think that changes this year.
Just as Mike Hart has the license to say whatever he wants about Michigan State, Woodson has every right to say whatever he wants about Ohio State.
3-0, made plays in all three. Good enough for me.
With the playoff format and Big Ten Championship game, I "think" it slightly dimishes "The Game" becasuse the stakes won't be as high every year. Until it decides the conference winner and likely a playoff spot almost every year, I think the new generation of players wont have the same feeling as years where "The Game" decided a Rose Bowl birth or outright Big Ten Champion...or defined your season. You could very well have a few more games after the OSU game..its just not the same as "this is the last game" before the bowl game.
BIG Championship, playoff...dude, Harbaugh and the boys can't get their noses above third place in the division. There is absolutely no reason to be thinking of dreams when they haven't met the reality of winning the division. So yeah, the OSU game is the last game before the bowl game, and sometimes just the last game.
Yeah they sure seemed to have a hard time with that in 2014 and 2017.
Come on, man.
Day game we win. On Warde and Jim
Ohio State has just been better every year. Better coached, better players, better player development. Be better.
...is arrogance so befuddling that it causes one to forget who they're actually suppossed to be "better" than?
MSU is no where near as talented as michigan 8 out of 10 is the benefit of having hoke and rodriguez as head coahes. Harbaugh is 2-1 against state if it wasnt for a freak play.
