Recruiting impact if Schiano becomes Pats DC?

Submitted by Caesar on

Looks like there's at least some smoke about Schiano to the Pats (link). I've also read he has a good relationship with Bill Belichick, which helps explain all the Rutgers guys drafted by the Pats.

Anyway, if Schiano goes, does this help Michigan with any recruitments? I'm specifically looking at Tyler Friday.

Don't see it affecting UM recruiting . I think the uptick in our recruiting would be if a certain Tim Drevno was somewhere other than AA.

No.

And to add to it, the real problem Michigan is experiencing, imo, is a rash of negative recruiting that centers around how soft the team. All a competing HC has to do is point to how Michigan cannot win any big game against a ranked team or major rival and how easily they fold under Harbaugh. The record clearly shows that.

Harbaugh has a tough task ahead if he wants to make Michigan matter again.

0.00 impact.

We've been waiting for the collapse of Ohio State for years now.

Coaching staff changes, players leaving early for the NFL, Urban "heart issues" . . . all of it.

It ain't happening.

We are going to have to go out there and actually beat Ohio State, not wait futilely for them to implode.

None. Maybe it'll hurt them slightly next year where they'll have a top 5 recruiting class instead of top 2.

Any recruit that goes to OSU for Schiano is going for the wrong reason anyways, he obviously is looking to leave for bigger things and won't be there for your 3 years anyways

at best one or two players might reconsider.

No one is committing to OSU for Schiano. The are committing to Meyer and OSU.

Besides, I highly doubt Schiano would be the pick for Belichick anyways...I'm guessing Flores, a guy they absolutely love in that organization
