SEC!
The rule is still in effect:
If a team loses to another in another P5 or G5 conference, it is a mark on the loser, and a mark on the strength of the conference.
Whenever an SEC team loses to another of SEC, it is proof of the strength of the SEC.
Somebody hasn't been paying attention!

but it feels like in the high teens is kind of the "Lloyd Zone". Heck even if we lose the next two but win the bowl..9-4 would be right there as a fairly normal Michigan season.

should be out of top 25 after last weekend performances.

I think ND is still good. MSU is a mediocre team that should be 5-5

If you are the #25 team and you play #1, and you make a last second FG to win, you would move up 5-10 spots. Why not move up 1-2 if you lose close? Do you think the #26 beating a body bad opponent by 7 proves they are better than you?

The polls over-reward and punish for wins and losses (based on their pre-conceived notions).
I find it even more absurd for counting multiple overtime wins or losses the same as thrashings in regulation.

Sparty. Beat Wisconsin.
Miss. State - Bama game was a heckuva game last night. One of the best I've seem this year and SEC games usually boring. Jalen Hurts threw a long td pass on a dime after a bit of a scramble, looks improved. Miss. State was impressive and competitive with Bama the whole game. Tough loss for them.

With that disclaimer given on the front end, I laugh at the inconsistencies. Michigan gets plowed by PSU (a top 5 team) and gets shoved out of the top 25 by all polls. MSU gets plowed by OSU far worse than we did against PSU but still manage to be in the top 25??? Lulz

We have none, they have two. Do you think random sports media people around the country all have a preference for MSU? It's more like the polls will forgive bad losses if you have good wins. We don't have a good win.

Where we should have been ranked last week, so we got screwed by a spot or two this week.

But to date Michigan hasnt beaten any team of consequence and has lost two conference games, one a blow out.
In the grand scheme of things Michigan’s ranking means nothing except to help Wisconsin and Ohio State build a case for their own season’s.

This weekend went almost perfectly for OSU. The Pac-12 and ND were just about eliminated from the playoffs. OSU will probably be ranked around 8th in the CFP rankings, and a bunch of teams in front of them have head to head matchups. Auburn/Bama still have to play and the winner plays Georgia in the SEC title game. Miami and Clemson play in the ACC title game and OSU would get Wisky in the Big Ten title game. OSU definitely isn't a lock to make the playoffs but a nice lane opened up for them this weekend.
