Accused of shoplifting. It goes without saying you don't want to be arrested anywhere, but especially a place where you don't know the language or police procedures.

You have to realize how little the profits are in China per purchase, and how every piece of merchandise is important for the shop owners.
When he got caught, he should have paid straight away before the shop owners decided to call the cops. There is no way around getting caught now.

What a great ambassador for our country. Anyways, daddy will make a payment and make this whole thing go away. Sad part is he'll probably tell his son "next time don't get caught" instead of "don't it period." Spoiled.

They are fucked. Chinese prosecutors have a conviction rate of 99.2% according to Dan Wetzel's article. So to quote LaVar Ball himself, the prosecution is UNDEFEATED, NEVA LOST!

I honestly don't think much is going to come of this unless the Chinese REALLY want to make an example of this kid. I'm guessing LaVar will pay the Chinese government a rather hefty fine to bail LiAngelo out, LiAngelo return home safe and sound, and he will then proceed to get shat on in every opposing arena he enters.

This..
Asked if he was worried about LiAngelo, LaVar said, "He'll be fine. He'll be fine. Everybody making it a big deal. It ain't that big of a deal."

What a total asswipe. Stealing from a high-end store isn't that big a deal? Stealing from anyone isn't that big a deal? I guess as long as you're a big baller, the rules are really more like guidelines.
It's no wonder LiAngelo stole that stuff when he's got a father who tells him that stealing is not a big deal. I wonder what tune he'd be singing if someone broke into his house and stole his valuables. Or if someone decided to steal half of his inventory of overpriced $500 shoes.

No such thing as bad press right LaVar?

How fucking stupid can you be?
Shoplifting in China?
It almost sounds like a spoiled, pampered kid that's never had to face any consequences who never imagined that daddy can't save him now.

Then how fucking stupid can they be?

Well when you've got a father who teaches you that the world should revolve around you, that you're a big baller and the rules don't apply to you, and he tells the whole world that your shit doesn't stink....well, you see where I'm going with this.
Where do you think he learns it from? His dad is an enabler.

of 2034... Jeeze, you don't shoplift in a country where they have no problem using people as human pinatas

The fact that Lavar Ball scheduled a PRESS CONFERENCE slated for last night, and then was ''advised'' by his legal team that that would be a bad idea tells me everything I need to know about that man. (Not that the writing wasn't already on the wall)
WHY THE F would he schedule a press conference??!?!?!?!?
November 8th, 2017 at 4:04 PM ^
Well, he talks and he knows people are going to listen. He knows people are going to react, and he knows that whatever he says, Stephen A. Smith will be talking about it for his full segment that very night
I'm sure LaVar is very much of the mindset that there is no such thing as bad press.

They need to be back by December so we can have Louis Vuitton night at Crisler. It's going to be fun watching UCLA highlights from away games this year just to see some creativity in the student sections.
