In the end winning the game is the final goal. O'Korn did what he had to do.
The defense was excellent again and whatever trickery Purdue had was all used up.

I agree with most of this. Over the course of the season, it has seemed like the offensive gameplan has been overly "safe" - extra protection, emphasis on running, especially on 1st and 2nd down, and calling pass plays with sideline/back of EZ routes. I think this was done because, even though WS was seen to have the mental abilities necessary to play QB at a high level, the coaches knew he couldn't make some of the throws without mistakes.
With JOK, the coaches seemed to start safe and then once they saw him settle in, they opened things up with more receivers.. His mobility also surely played a role here.
--OR--
Either Pep or Drevno was more in charge of calling plays in the 1st half and 1st part of 3rd quarter, and that was abruptly changed by JH.
Either way, I say keep rolling with JOK and the playcalling in the last 25 minutes of game action.

which opponent will be the first to score 20 against Michigan this year.
Maybe none.

We may have our new starter at QB. I’m grateful to Speight for everything he has done. Laid his body and everything else on the line for Michigan, but it looks like it’s time for a change. Nothing personal against Speight, but it looks like it’s the difference between winning and losing football games.

O'Korn = Griese.
Defense is lights out, no points allowed in the 4th quarter just like 1997 until we met up with Penn State.
Fuck it, let's go unbeaten and kick the shit out of PSU and their version of Eric McCoo, Wiscy and OSU while we are at it.
GO FUCKING BLUE

Don Brown is amazing, but we knew that. Good job by the offensive staff to change what they were doing in the second half and throw to the damn tight ends.

2-3 wide and gun = success
Why our coaches can't see that... well maybe they do now.

I haven't seen such continuous goonery since the Narduzzi "60 minutes of unnecessary roughness" game against MSU when they tried to decapitate Denard Robinson.
Their coach was a goon who bullied the refs and threw chairs in the pregame speech.
Their players were goons who clearly intended to injure Michigan players on 4 distinct plays. They successfully caused injuries on 2 of the 4.
To hell with Purdue. Let's hang 80 on them next year a la Bo against Illinois.

Speight will be in my prayers tonight and going forward. He took a dirty cheap hit to the neck area.
The only world-shocking done today was by John O'Korn, not a mediocre Purdue receiver.
OUTSTANDING job. Didn't even look like the same guy we saw last season. Notice how the run game picked up once he started hitting those big throws. That's exactly what we need offensively.
And how about Zach Gentry and Sean McKeon?!?! What great individual games.
Now it's time to prepare and improve. This is not a bye week. It's an improvement week. Let's go kick state's fucking heads in in 2 weeks.
GO BLUE!!!!!

Don Brown is amazing. Special teams coaching is solid.
WHAT IS WITH OUR OFFENSIVE PLAYCALLING?
This was the worst problem all game IMO. And here is why:
They kept running it up the middle on first down every, single, time. It was essentially throwing away a down each time we got the ball, as Purdue's defense isn't completely stupid and caught on to the obvious fairly quickly.
It makes absolutely no sense. Especially in a game where we're trying to help our QB as much as possible considering the unexpected QB change.
By the way: JOK is a TON better at play action than Speight, a lot less obvious.
