Wholly uninformed and unsubstantiated acusations oif dishonesty sound as absurd when he makes them as when you made them.
Thank you for showing again how absurd your fandom is.September 23rd, 2017 at 11:05 PM ^

Great to see us use the TEs once again.
Don Brown is a beast!

Not saying the OL played great, but I thought a lot of the pressure came from our RBs completely whiffing on their blocks. I think the pass pro needs major work, especially our backs.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:04 PM ^
That's what I saw, too. Blocking backs on pass pro seemed to not understand at all what they should be reading.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:15 PM ^
Agreed. Karan Higdon, for instance, was brutal. I saw him whiff on three pass pro blocks that led directly to either a sack or pressure.

3rd down. In second half we had a 10 yd. TD red zone run on first down where Evans was untouched and seemed to coast in.

Fuck Purdue DC. No wonder his players are dirty with his antics and behavior.

Jansen just said essentially the same thing on the post game show. Well, except for the "Fuck Purdue" part.

Is the delusional Purdue fans afterparty thread? Left at halftime like their team did? Well shoot. I'm sure Bush and Winovich can still chase them down quick.

than Coach Brohm, or the Purdue DC. They are just mad. Michigan defense holds Purdue to zero third down conversions in 11 tries.

Any of you out there saying or thinking Harbaugh was being outcoached early on, time to go public with your deserved shame. He kept making the better adjustments and Michigan pulled away.
September 23rd, 2017 at 7:55 PM ^
Either Pep or Harbaugh took over the offense in the 2nd half b/c they (aka Drevno) were getting thoroughly out-coached in the 1st half. Nothing wrong with saying that.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:10 PM ^
That's a little too obvious, Pep. Be more subtle next time, and you might be believed.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:15 PM ^
Nobody in the world of fandom can know exactly what was going on beyond Michigan being absolutely out coached during the 1st hald and into the 2nd half before some kind of coaching change was made. Ultimately it has to be Harbaugh who has to be held accountable for the first half crap and responsible for the 2nd half turn around.

Harbaugh got massively lucky that O'Korn had a chance to play. Credit to the coaching staff and O'Korn for being ready to play. But this was a lucky ass development.
On the other hand, I posted this in the offense thread:
My post about the TEs and RBS (http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/tes-rbs-passing-game-film-session) showed that the extra blocker often caused confusion on the OL. This was the case again in the first half of this game, as the Speight sack that knocked him out had an OL with extra TE and Rb protection that was totally befudled. It happened again in the O'Korn drive that sputtered after the TD drive.
In the second half, we came out with 5 wide, and the OL held up there 1-on-1 block wonderfully without any extra blocking protection. This gave us quicker passes and more routes with potential to get open, and the extra time helped O'Korn improvise when players weren't originally open.
So major kudos to the coaching staff for adjusting.

play calling on offense was the thing that turned this game for Michigan.
I hope they will stop trying to run between the tackles so much when opposing Ds stack the box. Once M started throwing more on 1st and 2d down, the offense started to move the ball and put together nice drives.
September 23rd, 2017 at 8:31 PM ^
They stack the box because Michigan hasn't been able to have consistently good QB play in what felt like forever.
I'm glad to see the coaches call plays that seem to stretch the edges with Okorn and putting him in mostly shotgun to buy him more time on a shaky line.
Prior to that it seemed like a lot of pass plays called needed to be a 30+ yard pass.

but everyone said the exact opposite after Florida.
OMG, Where did Ty come from?!!!
There may be a loss of experience at RB coach but maybe there's more flexibility now too?
With this O-line & the play calling I think it's way too early to tell.

had ony 189 yards. Once Don Brown adjusted to the throwback misdirection, the D dominated. Nothing else worked for Purdue.
