Harbaugh Twitter Update on Grant Newsome
I don't know about y'all, but I'm proud of our boy Grant. He seems to be making strides.
Harbaugh Tweet: (There's a video of him running)
The grueling rehab continues for @grant_newsome. A lesser man would have thrown in the towel many moons ago.

I can't help but wonder if that act of walking off the field may have exacerbated his injury, resulting in the near loss of the limb. Perhaps he would have been better off to ride off on a cart.
Any insights from MGoMedicalProfession types?

I for sure would have folded.

Damn that's awesome. I got goosebumps watching this.
EDIT: I got him at just over 6 seconds to the 40, which is not terrible for OL not recovering from a horrific injury.

Great news. I really hope he can come back to play. I watched the Wisconsin game a few weeks ago and forgot how brutal that hyper extension was.

Go!!!!!!

Pretty fricking awesome. Good for you big fella! Can't wait to see you suit up.

The man is not afraid of hard work.

Great to see! Rehab is almost as much mental recovery as it is physical. You have to be able to trust your legs to go back out there and take the beating. So to see him out there running and getting back in the swing of things is very encouraging. Especially when there was talk of whether or not he'd even be able to keep his leg.
Hope he comes back next year stronger than ever.

Sounds like Grant is heeling up quickly. It sounds as painful as tearing your Achilles he'll. But heal be just fine, I think.

This is so frustrating to read..thanks for that!

Did this reference go over people's heads, or was it judged to not be "too political?" (BTW - I think it's funny and shouldn't be considered out of bounds.)
I've been on this blog for a long time and I'm still surprised by the voting from time to time.
August 22nd, 2017 at 8:05 PM ^
No. A typo is a typo no matter what side of the spectrum you are on. Anyone who considers it too political is just looking for a reason to be offended.
It's kind of like "Bigly". Most people on either side found it ridiculous and amusing.

You are saying that we have found common ground! It's a first step I suppose...

Love to see the effort & dedication. Keep on going, Grant!

What a great video, it's nice to see him able to move that well. It looks like at the least he will be able to enjoy a normal life, at the best he will be anchoring the left side of the line next year. Either way, that is great news.

Love to see the effort, and the heart. What a great example of perseverence in the face of adversity.

Just saw video. Looks pretty good for him. Has a long time to heal and get stronger. Really pulling for him.

Can't be a good sign for the O-line that Harbaugh is pushing him so hard to get back to 100%.

August 22nd, 2017 at 11:26 AM ^
Whether he plays again or not doesn't matter now. Just make a full recovery and be able to walk normal with no pain is great. If he returns to football that is just icing on the cake.
August 22nd, 2017 at 11:33 AM ^
Well he has 9/1/18 as his goal. I bet in his mind he is planning on playing next year. With what he has been through I would not bet against him.
August 22nd, 2017 at 11:38 AM ^
I'm hearing more and more that this game will be moved to Sunday (9/2/18) from ND alums. Would be great to have fifty or more 77 Michigan jerseys in the stands.
August 22nd, 2017 at 12:47 PM ^
Oh good. So we get to beat all the Catholics on their Sabbath day. It'll be adding even more insult to injury.
But in all seriousness, that would be cool to see those 77 jerseys flying around ND Stadium.

I can't wait to see him back in the lineup next season. What a boost he'll be to what will be a great young line.

Would've Given It Up By Now.
We're behind you 100% Grant!
