OT: Roll Call - Who else won their NCAA office pool?
I walked away with a cool $155 on a $5 investment.
Although it felt dirty rooting for UNC, the cool cleansing feeling of $155 of winnings washing over me has taken the stink right off.
I did not.
Nope.
Since most of us had Michigan in the Final Four, most of us were an inch or so away.
in fact i missed the entire final four except UNC. Them winning is the only reason i won.
Wow, did your pool consist ot toddlers and kittens?!
I went in the opposite direction!
This is sort of like those threads that say "Who's going to the game?" when really the OP means "I'm going to the game!" They're never started by someone not going to said game.
Nope.
#humblebrag
Just corner him in a dark alley and make him give you a hundred bucks. I'm sure you'd be able to just overpower him
she is a UNC grad............had a class with Kenny Smith.
So your wife never went to class?
Had UNC as champs to hold off another M alum who had Gonzaga. Not much money but the bragging rights are worth so much more.
Heap your praise upon me. Yes, three-time office champ in the last six years. I plan to be insufferable with thinly-veiled self congratulations and no-so-subtle recognition of my all-powerful prediction skills.
I'm the reigning World Cup bracket champ, but my fantasy football team sucked. Take the good with the bad.
A friend of mine finished in the top 500 on ESPN with 1610 points. 99.997 percentile.
This year I clocked in at 98.1%, top 350k bracket.
I didn't do a bracket in 2016.
In 2015, I was 99.7%, top 30k bracket.
I can't even fathom being top 500.
I went 28-4 in the first round this year, which was definitely a high water mark for me, but I can't even understand how someone gets virtually the whole tournament right, which is your friend's bracket.
and finished #87 on ESPNs Bracket challenge. Also won my office pool, my gfs office pool, and a friends online pool that year.
UM to the FF
Florida State to the Elite 8 (I can't believe I picked a Leonard Hamilton team to go that far)
Iowa State to the Elite 8 (they always choke and I seem to always pick them)
I had the finals matchup right and predicted 70-68, pretty close.
I forgot to start a thread in January bragging about how I won my fantasy football league. Although it felt dirty rooting for Le'Veon Bell, the sweet sweet money made it worth it.
I didn't win anything but did pick UNC to win it all...finished 129th in our MGoBlog ESPN bracket challenge.
Most importantly, I beat my Dad and retain bragging rights for another year.
Well, I will put it like this - on a $20 investment, I am getting exactly $0 of it back. It's a bit of a shame really, as it was a pool of 50 people and the top three spots were going to pay out, so if the bracket I entered weren't such a gloriously overthought tire fire, I could have walked away with a few hundred at least.
Office sponsors the pool.
My Fiance walked away with 800 on a 20 dollar buy in. She's been rubbing it in all morning
That's the same thing I do when I win.
Oh, you said rubbing it IN.
Never mind.
My Fiance walked away with 800 on a 20 dollar buy in. She's been rubbing it in all morning
If this statement is correct, she's gone through some other interesting changes since last night.
(One letter makes a difference.)
I picked UNC to win.
Over Villanova.
Needless to say, one side of my bracket was terrible. But the other side was pretty fantastic.
I was the only one to pick both finals teams correctly, and would have taken first and second with a Gonzaga win. Instead, because picking the champion was weighted so highly, the seventh place team won... sigh.
for the tournament and hit on the final game.
I also had squares and won $1200.00 on a $500.00 investment. The winning game numbers paid $10,000.00 and the semi finals paid $5,000.00 each.
only won $300 on a $40 investment.
cool
I got pounded like leftover lunchmeat.
Worst bracket ever.
Came in 2nd in both my friend pool and my family pool.
Last year I came in first in both. Meh. $20 is better than nothing. Mostly just frustrated because my point differential in the one that would've doubled my earnings was the equivalent of one first round game.
I won mine. I had Michigan in the Final Four like a lot of you, but I also had Gonzaga and UNC in the final. I didn't have UNC winning, but I had enough points from prior rounds to cover that loss.
In my heart. I would have won if each of the teams played like they were supposed to. Not my fault.
in my neighborhood pool and won $120 on a $20 buy-in. I had a bet on our game with my uncle from Oregon, however, so I'm not netting very much for the Tourney.
Well I put $250 on UNC last night then another $200 when they were down at halftime so I'm pretty happy.
This was the scene in CH:
