Michigan a** kicking Indiana snowflakes

I don't think anyone expected this result. This is a great win for our guys, good luck heading into East Lansing. Insert Tom Cream memes below.

but the defense was good.   Forced a lot of those TOs.  DJ was a BEAST with four blocks inside and MAAR did a stellar job of keeping Blackmon quiet.  IU is a very good offensive team and we held them to 1.02 ppp.

Bryant was good in the post and Newkirk drove pretty easily on Walton but other than that, we played quite well on D.

Plus, they kept IU off of the offensive glass -- and IU is sixth in the country in offensive rebound percentage.  IU's 62.5% effective field goal percentage was certainly a concern, but they only rebounded five misses (25%).  IU was very much one-and-done -- or none-and-done, with the extremely high number of turnovers (16 in a 59 possession game -- 27%).

If you can't stop the shots from falling, you have to reduce the number of shot attempts you concede, and Michigan did that tonight -- especially during the decisive stretch to open the second half.

was unreal.  Pressure, switching, blocking out, physical play.  I can't believe this is the same team that played in Champaign a few weeks ago.

And Walton was so much fun to watch tonight - he was doing it all.

Great game!  Go Blue!!!

is the best rebounding team in the B1G; we beat them 23-20 in that category. They only had 5 offensive boards, and I'm pretty sure at least 3 of those came on one possession after we lead by 20+.  Winning the turnover battle 16-6 was also helpful. Also, every starter plus D. Robinson scored double figures; assists and rebound were evenly distributed. Great team victory!

Just 4 games ago someone said DJ Wilson wouldn't start on any other good team in the nation and he only started for Michigan because we were below average. Crazy how reactionary people are. "We suck and fire Beilein!" "Hey, we could be ranked if we beat State on Sunday."

Good win but it won't mean anything if we drop the next 3. We've dug ourselves in a big hole. Even if we lose in EL winning the next 2 after that would be huge

It was one great win in a season of horrid medicority.

If they can replicate this effort in MSU and get a W, then yeah I'll begin to start the process of buying back in. But they have a LONG way to go before we can all say this team is back.

Go into MSU, lay an egg, and this win is meaningless.

why would a loss in EL render this win meaningless?  you were expecting a win in EL to start the year?  i highly doubt that.  this team has had 3 tough close losses in the BIG; two on the road.  that ain't no crime.

no one in their right mind has UM beating IU by 30 at the beginning of the year.  this game proves that UM can play with anyone.  a little uptick in the D and this team can beat anyone.

He said lay an egg.

The match up favors us on Sunday. Especially when it comes to bigs. And we all saw what Wagner and Wilson did tonight.

It's on the road, though. We'll see. Would be extra sweet for our first road win this year to be at that piss hole.

Nick Ward is going to be a load.  Wagner (and Donnal of course) don't handle physical bigs very well.  Bryant basically did what he wanted tonight. Wilson should have a mismatch because the guy is playing incredibly well right now.  6'10 nailing threes, driving and kicking, doing it all.

The matchup might favor us slightly overall but the location makes them the favorite.  Can't lay an egg though, certainly.

Wonderful effort on the defensive end. Indiana shot well but we forced a lot of turnovers, rebounded most of their misses and made it tough on them overall. Need to keep that intensity up when we go on the road.

What's wrong with some of you people? Why can't you talk about this game in a vacuum instead of lashing out at people who rightfully questioned Beilein's fitness to lead this program? They looked sharp. It was still a massive aberration of a game in the midst of the last three seasons and you jokers want to act like it's representative of the norm

Outstanding defensive effort by MAAR on Blackmon.  Averaging close to 20 ppg, coming off a huge game against State, and MAAR holds him to 3 shots total - and NONE in the second half.  Gotta figure that he'll draw Eron Harris in East Lansing - hoping for similar results
