Michigan WBB is hot!
For those craving good basketball, check out the women's team.
After being tied for 3rd place, they are currently alone in 3rd place in B1G after blowing out NU 54-80 at Crisler Wednesday night.
Kim Barnes-Arico won her 100th game, the second women's coach to do so at Michigan. She has something special going on this year and the team is on the cusp of top 25 nationally!

Maybe in a Final Four game so at least we got there and will hang a banner for the first time.

But this team's trajectory over the past few seasons is quite the opposite of Beilein's team.

Why not? They easily could have beat both of them on the road.

(since you beat me to a thread I just copied my game recap and pasted it)
Both teams came into this game receiving votes in the AP poll with just 0.5 games separation in the B1G standings.
Michigan trailed once in this game. 2-0 to start it off. And then the rout began.
Flaherty had 14 first half points to become only the 3rd player in program history to break 1,700 points. She would finish with 20 and yet she still did not lead the team.
Kysre Gondrezick went off in this one. She went 6-10 from 3 and had 22 points, 7 rebounds AND 6 assists!
Hallie Thome also reached double figures with 18, so the wealth was spread around in this one.
Some of 7 of Siera Thompson's assists were pretty impressive, a few of them on the run to Hallie Thome under the basket for an easy bucket.
Michigan led 41-19 at half and scored 39 more in the 3rd & 4th quarters to win 80-54.
This is a BIG win. Northwestern is in 4th place just behind Michigan, and I see one game on the rest of the schedule where I wouldn't be surprised if we lost.
This team is rolling right now. And to top it off, Head Coach Kim Barnes Arico reached 100 career wins at Michigan tonight making her the fastest in program history to get to 100 wins.
Her win percentage is already #1 among all U-M WBB coaches and she's just 24 wins away from becoming the all-time winningest coach in program history.
Michigan is now 17-5 and 6-2 in the B1G and has a week off before traveling to Illinois next Wednesday night and then a home game with Iowa on Sunday the 5th.
I would be SHOCKED if we are not ranked come Monday for the first time since KBA's first season.

The program is on the verge of greatness. Being able to offer top recruits a Michigan education and the opportunity to play in the tourney will be very appealing. Hopefully the softball and basketball programs can feed off one another.

Currently projected as an 8 seed in the latest bracketology, up from a 9 seed last week. Gotta think we crack the coaches poll next week and are probably the first team out of the AP top 25.
