Original owner of an 85 GT. Was black, but the paint job on them was poor. Now it’s maize with blue trim.

Modified the exhaust. Nice throaty rumble and more hp/torque. New wheels. Else, stock 2.8.

This will take a few way back....

Barrage Balloons

“whose members were strapped to the blimp-shaped balloons armed with explosives“. Really? Suicide balloon bombers? Please site your source. Not how barrage balloons work.

How was best measured?

Wins?

Least losses?

Win Percentage?

Fewest scandals?

Most players drafted?

Longest pro careers?

Most players graduated?

Number of players who’ve stayed out of police stations?

Raised the most money?

Number of former players consider to be fine members of society?

Far too many factors. Need to define the parameters.

IG nas

If you’ve kids Mac City. Quieter and far less expensive in St Ignace.

Stay a couple nights on Mackinaw Island. Completely different place after the day trippers depart. Tahquamenon Falls. Munising is lovely. If you’ve time, go look for agates on the Keweenaw beaches. Sue locks can be interesting. Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum.

Bug spray. Definitely bug spray.

Miserable....

He has a daughter asking, “Yes daddy, what if had been me?”

That’s the best you can come up with?

I wasn’t expecting serious responses, but these are mediocre at best. Come on! I dangle my privates in your general direction.

Ummmm

Fruity rum drinks? Guess where I am!

Clearly a failure on your part

A god father is supposed to guide the god child in religious education. If football Saturdays are the sabbath and football the religion, you blew it pal. That is, unless you did all that and she is an M fan and just did not get into M. Then, it is her parent's fault for not making her study more.

Take heart though, she is your god daughter, not your daughter. There is an old saying about rather having a daughter working in a whore house rather than attending MSU....

Geaux Blu

Was a regular many years ago and had some great comments. One day however, he took exception to some punctuation and spelling of another poster (cannot remember the avatar). They went back and forth a few times, getting more heated. It ended with Blu being told to geaux f himself.

BMW 323 Cabriolet

Lived in Verona for a couple years and bought the car there. Too many individual driving stories to go into detail. Skiing in the Dolomites, wine hunting around Firenze , Sienna and the Tuscan hill towns, zips to Venezia, all over southern Germany and Austria. Eventually drove through Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands and all over the U.K.

Just had a blast.

What car would I like? I saw a Smart Car in London.... it was a 2 seat, soft top convertible with a trunk. Saw it again in the movie "Knight and Day." The bad guys were chasing the protagonists through the streets, shooting, dodging bulls and eventually crashing. Basically it is like a go cart, only faster!

Alfa Romeo 156

Smooth as silk autostrada killer. Cruised easily at 100mph and had a tight suspension for the twisty turnies.

Good luck getting this answered....

DSL is my only option, perhaps 1-3mbs, not the greatest. Been watching Netflix on a 44" hd screen. Shows start rough, but since play rate is slower than download rate, the shows are displayed in hd in about 30sec. Surprised me.

Thank you for being gracious!

Yours is more thorough and I appreciate it.  Maybe my headline'll everyone's attention?

Temptation and Hawaiian War

Temptation and Hawaiian War Chant are traditional MMB selections in the post game show. Someone found the Muppets version...probably 7-8yrs ago and and posted them after a big victory, don't recall which. Since then, it is a big victory staple, brought out for special occasions.

No shame

I did 28yrs in the Navy and know it is a tough life.  Your duty was done and I'm proud you served.  YOU be proud and live a good life.

Working at the Combined Air

Working at the Combined Air Operations Center in Incirlik, Turkey. We had just cancelled a Northern Watch mission. Watched the first tower burning then the second impact. Watched the second collapse in the PX. Kids around me said "Oh wow." I responded with, "Not an oh wow. A bunch of people just died." Base was locked down immediately and fighters put on alert for at least a month. The Turks do not have a flag at half mast tradition but did it for us.

Spent the next few years working in the desert doing ops from Afghanistan, to Djibouti, to Iraq and all in between. The good news? Met my wife in Qatar!

The same

In the late 70's, Dooley's or VBell.  A buddy of mine had the apartment over the VBell and loved the Dortmunder Union available there.  And yes, VBell was on SouthU.  Rick's was a dump then.

Charlies came late and became a Thursday stop with boat drink night.

Story:  Another buddy decided to liberate one of the orange Dooley's director's chairs and made a dash out the back door with it.  Running down the street, chased by the bouncers, his trail was easy to follow since everyone on the street kept pointing and shouting, "Hey, there goes a Dooley's chair!"  Since my buddy was a long distance runner, he out paced the bouncers.  The dude is a doctor now....

I think I still have a beer pitcher from there.

I've been wondering...

about this for a while.  I like the responses, essentially 'yes', is there a rule to make it so?  Even without a rule, I'd bet the teams would make it so.

Well thought out and presentented.

Looking foreward to the counter arguement.  Thanks!

Exactly what I do

I've dish with a DVR and the satillite is about 1.5 sec behind the over-the-air, local broadcasts.  I get the Brandstater/Dierdort broadcast via MGoBlue.com.  Depending on internet traffic jams, the broadcast is anywhere from 10-25sec behind dish.  So, I delay the satillite via the DVR and sync it to the broadcast...usually get it pretty close, to the point where the referee's calls are not outta whack.

Other than when I'm telephoning someone else watching the game and they start hooting, hollering and then say, "Did you see that?" the delay is no big deal.

Don't listen to them. Sync

Don't listen to them. Sync the radio broadcast to the tv video and listen to Brandstater and Derdorf.

Maize

As a student in the 70s, maize was maize, the color of harvested corn, yellow with a hint of orange.  Nike morphed it into a neon yellow that everyone used and I hated it.  Adidas did not fix it but stayed with a garish yellow.

I'm hoping the new color will be closer to maize.  This might cause me to dump the old stuff and get new.

Speaking of fictional UM Grads

Anyone seen eposode 3 of American Odyssey?  Sergeant Odelle Ballard is captured by a terrorist/freedom fighter group.  The HFMIC attended UM.  Serious subject, but fun 'go blue' exchange.  I wonder if the writer is from OSU....

Kicking the shit out of someone

Does 'committing attrocities' count as a legit reason to suspend 'adult response?'  I thought Schiano was a tough guy and IF he did witness the events, why didn't he kick the shit out of Sandusky.  IF there were witnesses, the location must have been public, at least to a degree.  Sandusky was asking to get the shit kicked out of him.

Hell, I kicked the shit out of my cousin when I saw him eat a booger.  I can imagine what I'd do now.

Edit:  I'm still angry about this one.

IF indeed these events were witnessed, NO ONE took personal responsibility for the safety of the kids.

What is the phrase...oh:  Edmund Burke:  The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

I'm going to go drive a few nails now....

America's Cup

All this posturing/maneuvering reminds me of all the crap associated with the America's Cup races.  Team A innovates.  Team B protests to the committee (usually the host organization).  The committee supports their team.  The other takes it all to court.  Months later, something falls out.

It will be interesting to see of the JH innovations end up in court.  Could it lead to a reorganization of the NCAA?

I say keep pushing the buttons coach!

LOL

But sometimes I wonder if those creating these have way too much time on their hands....

Blueberry Wheat

Bought a local Washington 6 a number of years ago.  Thought is was a safe bet since I'd liked the blackberry, kirsch and framboise.  The stuff was sickeningly sweet.  Makes a great blueberry syrup for pancakes though!

Marquette

Used to make a run between AA and Houghton (pretty girl behind every palm tree) and really enjoyed the scenery around the bay.  I'd like to spend more time there.  Maybe next time we go to Tahquamenon Falls, we will spend the night in Marquette.

Thanks man!

Does this mean even engineers can write?  Oh wait, Fearless Leader is an engineer....

I agree

Just trying to make a play on ballz stretching from his home to Louiseville.  Blame the Chinaco.

Thanks!

Will look for it on the next trip.

You're right!

SW used to be a rough and tumble logging town.  Loggers from up river would fill the town on the weekend and spend their money.  An old timer told me if a hotel reservation hadn't been made for the following weekend before they left town, they were sleeping in the streets...and no shower/bath.

I assume some Michigander loggers moved here after the Michigan forests were depleted rebuilding Chicago.  Mrs O'leary still has some explaining to do regarding that event!

Now, a few of the old bars are still around, but only 1 hotel.  There were only 3000 people here when I moved here in 1993.  Gentrification in progress.  Supposidly, SW is an up and coming hot spot.  Hope so, I'd like to sell the house, orchard and vines and move aboard a boat!

Bell's

Love the Oberon.  Normally I don't care for hoppy beer...which sucks for the PNW and the popularity of IPAs.

Give me a Belgian style!

Dude...

Please accept my sympathies.

Jealous

No cable out here in the boonies.  Dish and DSL.  BTN is only available in the "sports package" while SEC and Longhorn are on the 'top 200.'  I don't get it.

So, listening via MGoBlue.com...

Blackrocks Coconut Brown

A Marquette beer.  What is is like?  Standard brown like Skagit River Steelie Brown or is there something else, a hint of coconut?

Bought a 6 of Hell or High Watermelon last summer thinking it was just a name.  Mistake, actually watermelon...and not in a good way.

Ouch

that hurts....
