META - Mobile App not loading
Tried on both data and wifi, just spins and spins without actually pulling anything up (board, main page, diaries, nothing). Other connections are fine, mgoblog loads through mobile web browser. I was having this problem yesterday also, but figured it was Najee-related 502 issues. Is anyone else having problems with the mobile app, or is it just me?

Not just you.

I had to delete the app until it can be resurrected

Same here, too. I used the Feedback but then got dumped from the app, so I'm not sure that goes anywhere. I was hoping it wasn't just me, so I appreciate the thread.

Pretty sure Brian said something about it being an iOS bug that they are working on fixing.
January 10th, 2017 at 1:29 PM ^
funny. I have the same problem on Android.
Mayhaps some of the Hamsters from the mobility wheel were reallocated to the MGoBlogPrevent502Error Wheel.

I have android, and it's working for me. Just tested it...

I have yet to update my iOS device to 10.2. It still doesn't work. They might be barking up the wrong tree.

tried a few "tricks" that were mentioned on the 502 thread, but still not working on iOS for me
January 10th, 2017 at 12:27 PM ^
The iOS update broke the app. Brian is aware.
January 10th, 2017 at 12:36 PM ^
But is he fully aware?
January 10th, 2017 at 12:37 PM ^
but not executing properly.

Sounds like Michigan football circa 2011-2014.

The last IOS update was at least several weeks ago and the apps didn't go south until this weekend. Was there some sort of IOS update on the server side of things?
January 10th, 2017 at 12:28 PM ^
Not working and not likely to be working anytime soon.
January 10th, 2017 at 12:28 PM ^
Yeah, it stopped working Sunday, I also thought something big happened. There was a post about this yesterday morning, but I am too lazy to find it and link it.
January 10th, 2017 at 12:29 PM ^
It was buried... and the whole we cant go back pages unelss we make a new tab issue.

Yep - I have the right click on the MGoBoard listing to go back to the previous page, also.

I believe Brian posted on Twitter yesterday that the new update crashed the IOS app... App isn't working for my iPhone or iPad... At least they are aware! Hopefully will be back up & running soon!

If you have an iOS device you'll be stuck using a mobile browser for the forseeable future.
January 10th, 2017 at 12:31 PM ^
I thought Brian was pissed from the negbang and just closed the site for a few days.

My wife is happy. Now she doesn't see me checking my phone all night. Instead I'm just on my laptop at night "working"
January 10th, 2017 at 12:32 PM ^
I'll be the fourth person to say that Brian stated the iOS update messed with the app and that he is aware and working on a fix.

I swear the Android app hasn't been updated in years. No embedded videos, half the images don't work. No posting, no voting, no points. Last year Brian said an update was in the works.... hope to see it eventually.

The Android version the MGoBlog app is nice for reading posts (if you can overlook the lack of successful embeds and photos), and it isn't bad for making short posts, but writing anything of length in it is a nightmare right now. The problem I have with the apps in general is that they do not have any mod functionality, so when people report stuff and I only have my phone on me, there's nothing I can really do.

It would be nice to be able to upvote/downvote too. Friday posbangs just aren't the same on the app.
January 10th, 2017 at 2:40 PM ^
Can't you just access the site from mobile browser? That's what I usually do when I'm out, I don't care for the app.

This just in! Water is wet!

The site itself crashes anytime a recruit posts something on Twitter, and you expect the app to work? Lol.
January 10th, 2017 at 12:57 PM ^
I miss refreshing the app every 30 seconds for a new Najee thread. :(
January 10th, 2017 at 12:59 PM ^
Just wanted to remind the powers that be that the Android app is still a flaming pile of cooler poop.

At this rate, MGoBlog will turn into a daily newsletter that is faxed to us in our bathrooms. b/c it's 2017 and we have fax machines in the bathrooms. And flying cars.

if the apps are disabled Ronnie Kaye might finally have to go back to the MLive comment section.

MGoBlog is the equivalent of a really good italian restaurant that has a one hour wait from 4pm to 9pm despite the fact that half the tables are open. Brian et al make really good spaghetti, but they have no idea how to run a restaurant properly. I suggest you go down the street. The marinara isn't as good but at least you won't starve to death waiting.

Alright, have fun reading shit material on Bleacher Report.
January 10th, 2017 at 1:38 PM ^
i don't really care about their business acumen to the point where i would give up reading the content of this site, even though that is what it would take for them to try harder to address it. but i will bitch and moan about it because it brings me satisfaction and maybe they'll notice it this way.
January 10th, 2017 at 2:43 PM ^
But the complete silence from anyone associated with the blog is really frustrating, and pretty discouraging. It just comes off as being completely aloof, which isn't really what you want to display to your customers (even though we technically aren't the customers, Google is).
January 10th, 2017 at 1:26 PM ^
iPhone app still isn't working for me either, I have just been checking it through Twitter and it seems to be working fine on there.
January 10th, 2017 at 1:37 PM ^
sucks.
January 10th, 2017 at 1:41 PM ^
is where it would be nice for them to have a modern website that can sticky relevent meta information somewhere prominent so it doesn't get buried.
