Recruiting info.
Per land of 10's Brandon Justice, his sources tell him we will be receiving another commitment this week not named Ruiz, or Anthony.
Michigan had an outstanding week of recruiting last week. Despite losing out on 5-star offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson, who committed to Georgia, the Wolverines were still able to land two early-enrollee commitments from 5-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, and 4-star wide receiver Tarik Black. The heat is on, as Michigan sits at 22 commitments, and will be looking to add at least seven more recruits to this already-loaded 2017 class. One commitment announcement is already scheduled for Monday. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) 4-star center Cesar Ruiz will announce his decision at noon ET. I, along with everyone else, would need a meteor to hit Ann Arbor to even contemplate the idea of Ruiz not choosing Michigan. Some serious things would need to happen overnight. But as of now, it’s a 99-percent chance for the Wolverines to land Ruiz. But that shouldn’t be all Michigan lands Monday. A trusted source clued me in on another big week ahead for Michigan. There is the possibility that 5-star running back Najee Harris finally announces his decision, along with 4-star recruits Drew Singleton (LB), Deron Irving-Bey (DE), Eno Benjamin (RB), … and the list goes on. The source wasn’t able to clue me in on which of these players it will be, but it had 100-percent confidence that another addition to the class will come sometime this week that isn’t already scheduled – and LB Jordan Anthony is scheduled for Thursday. Again, this is fully expected to happen sometime after Ruiz’s announcement Monday. But things could change, as they always find a way to in recruiting. But until I get word on that change, expect to Michigan to make second addition on Monday.

That would be welcome news, indeed!
Ahh, crootin'... You're so fickle and conniving, but we can't get enough of you.

The Wilson to Georgia thing still has more than a few pissed off in Schembechler Hall. The night before they put his odds at 80% to UM. There will be a back story that comes out after signing day. Coaches cannot talk about specific recruits until after signing day.

I imagine they were about as happy as everyone on the board was, that said, I hope the reaction to it was a bit of a shrug and then asking, "What's next?"
December 19th, 2016 at 10:27 AM ^
I figured there was some back story to this sudden change of heart. Some people in the Wilson thread were calling for your public execution, LOL. I guess if you are only wrong on one recruit, I can let it slide. Any other updates you can provide for us, recruiting or otherwise?
December 19th, 2016 at 10:41 AM ^
Info is only as good as the sources and the intentions of those involved. In this case, the sources were stellar and that leaves you with the other side of the story. It will come out later. Oh, and Wilson using stability of the staff is complete BS. He knew JH wasn't leaving.

If you know the story, can't you come out with it? Coaches can't talk about specific recruits until after signing day, but you can certainly ;).
Personally, I would rather nothing be said, then to be told, "There's more to the story, but I'll tell you when you're older."

Eno Benjamin....and possibly Hicks. There has been a lot of communications going back and forth.

Any feedback on Sione Heimuli-Lund? I thought I read somewhere that he's setting up an official visit. Is he a possible replacement for AJ Dillon?
December 19th, 2016 at 10:58 AM ^
It sounds like he wants to go to Texas.
December 19th, 2016 at 11:46 AM ^
I thought it was the opposite. I remember reading that he wanted to go to UM but the chances were slim given our RB situation. This was a month or so ago even before the Harris situation heated up.
Given that Samuels may not be signing and Dillon decommiting this could have opened the door for Benjamin
December 19th, 2016 at 12:14 PM ^
It makes sense that he would be interested again, but since decommitting from Iowa he has been looking elsewhere. I saw a quote or two from him about wanting an offer from Texas. Once they hired Herman, his interest shot up. He had an offer from Strong, fwiw.

I'd love Najee Harris, obviously. But Eno Benjamin wouldn't be a bad consolation prize if we miss out on Harris. Elijah Hicks is still in play?! That would be another welcome addition.
December 19th, 2016 at 12:57 PM ^
Eno is absolutely not a consolation prize, despite his composite score which means nothing, he's an elite tailback n national poy finalist....we need him GoBlue!
December 19th, 2016 at 3:35 PM ^
I meant consolation prize as in he's not the top RB in the land, as Harris is. Not because he's not a great RB himself... but as someone just mentioned Michigan isn't even recruiting him, so....
December 19th, 2016 at 12:04 PM ^
FWIW, Steve Lorenz is adamant that Michigan is not recruiting Eno Benajmin and i haven't heard Webb mention his name either.

Now that a spot has opened up on our coaching staff maybe we can offer the same coaching position Georgia did
December 19th, 2016 at 11:53 AM ^
I don't think there's a limit on analyst positions like there is on assistant coaches. Dougherty was an analyst.

Come on man, you said last week Wilson was all Michigan when that clearly wasn't the case. This whole "things will come out after signing day" is weak. Come out from who? Sam? Steve? Rivals? The New York Post? Just spill what you know this isn't the CIA its high school football recruiting. It's fairly well known now that his HS coaches are in line to get jobs at UGA.

"The night before they put his odds at 80% to UM."
Isn't that how probabilities work? if you're 80% predictions aren't wrong one time in five, you're estimating the probabilities incorrectly.

I browse Landof10 ocassionally, but are they actually legit people talking about recruiting? A lot of what I read seems to come from WTKA and whatnot.

Mhmm...
I can think of a someone(or 2) that currently use this method for delivering M-Recruiting news... Or, at least that is how it always seems to me...

I never heard of Land of 10 until this past week. Is this a new blog or what lends it any credence? I don't remember it being around last Feb/March. I don't see nearly as many bewbs as on Touch the Banner so I have to verify before I trust.

If I remember correctly, LandOf10 is an Atlanta-Journal Constitution site about B1G recruiting. They recruited Justice from The Wolverine to be their Michigan guy.

December 19th, 2016 at 10:25 AM ^
that one of those guys could be on the verge of committing to M at any second? I thought the OP was alluding to someone not on M's radar, who would be a surprise! It's nice to know that Michigan has another commitment on the way, but if it was someone who was heavily favored to Michigan (I know, things happen), I'm not very excited about that. Wake me up when Harris makes his decision!

This all sounds awesome, but this read like a vague sourcing of "good" news with a list of every single Michigan target remaining on the board.
