This was expected. Next year, MSU is going to have issues on both lines again. They also lose a lot in the back 7 although I'm not sure how much of a loss Demetrious Cox is. He wouldn't have been playing if somebody behind him was better.

While MSU fades to mediocrity, PSU steps forward (they have like 19 starters returning next year).

I couldn't believe how bad the Wisconsin DBs played. Unable to locate balls thrown up for grabs, bad angles, missed tackles. I don't remember them being so inept when we played them.
December 6th, 2016 at 10:39 AM ^
their moral probity. Up on Olympus they shake their heads at how misunderstood JoePa and company were.
December 6th, 2016 at 1:11 PM ^
a team with so many long ball completions that should have been defended (Wis vs. PSU)? Those long lobs by McSorley took forever to get downfield, and the DB's were clueless on defending them.

In Brady Hoke was rattled by losing him. Why we lost him or how it was even a battle. Dignity precedes embarrassment I guess.
December 5th, 2016 at 11:54 PM ^
We lost him because of having such a terrible season. Same with Dashawn Hand. It's amazing how much the college football evironment can change in three years. In february of 2014, MSU won the Rose Bowl and our program had no hope of a better future. Fast forward three years and we have gone 20-5 and were two plays away from 12-0 while they went 3-9 with Furman propping up their win total.

ha yeah, wouldve been great to see him in maize and blue but good for him. always happy to see guys get a shot to play ball for a living (unless theyre in minority of total scumbags, of which mcdowell isnt). and its always great to see detroit kids head to the league

He is a terrific DL, but that is one area where we had plenty of talent of our own; losing him didn't matter all that much, in retrospect.

because on an MSU recuiting visit, then current players told him that he didn't have to go to classes if he didn't want to.
December 6th, 2016 at 8:32 AM ^
the text thing is what his mom said that she found on his phone after the visit, also on that visit he got wasted at a party and came home hung over and his mom was not happy about that either...

At least the MSU staff was smart enough to get the blondes off of him before sending him home drunk.

NFL are a lot higher than the fans and they viewed him at 2nd/3rd round pick. They felt that he was mis-used at FS due to the lack of talent at the secondary and should've played at SS which it's his natural fit. They think he's a top 5 S in the draft.

you'd be surprised at how highly NFL think of Nicholson. They have him at top 5 S in the draft. They loved his improvement from last season where he was awful to a guy who understands coverage. They felt that he had to cover up a lot of mistakes at the backend where he looked bad when it isn't his fault.
They said he's an instant starting S next season if he gets drafted to the right team.

Is that the time Mork attempted a 2-pt conversion down 7 with 1 second left in the game where a SPARTY NO fumble occurred and Jabrill picked it up and Olympic-style sprinted the length of the field before crossing the Finish line in near record time to make the game a two-possession game again?
Oh yeah, I remember. They really out-hit us that game.
December 6th, 2016 at 1:05 AM ^
Dantonio really needed to send a mental message there.
December 6th, 2016 at 1:25 AM ^
Though I'd imagine the message that ended up being received was different than he intended.
December 6th, 2016 at 12:52 PM ^
"Minus 2 point conversion"
Wish like hell those could be live-ball, returnable for 6. I would like that to be considered at the next cfb rules committee meetings ; - )

when the commentators wondered why he was going for two, the play-by-play guy said he might be trying to make the score look better, and the color guy said "that doesn't sound like Mark Dantonio," and then in the postgame presser Dantonio basically admitted he was doing exactly that?
That was cool.
