passive aggressively documented in the article:
But Peppers is more than just a return specialist, acting instead as the queen on Brown's chess board and lining up all over the field.
QUEEN?!?!?!?
Oh no you didn't!

the queen has got all of the moves. Except that of the knight, that is.

I'll run with Peppers the Queen over a Scarlet knight.

that would be Rutgers.

This happens so often it's annoying; I make a joke and someone realizes the potential for a joke, without actually realizing I made that very joke.

and Michigan has a chance.
Barrett has been murder on 3rd down and short with his legs.
November 21st, 2016 at 1:13 PM ^
4th and 2, no hesitation, right to the line, 6 yards. It was aggravating just to type that out.
November 21st, 2016 at 2:55 PM ^
Yes. Meyer is very aggressive. When it comes to fourth and short and they're at midfield or in the opponent's territory, he's likely going to opt to go for it. I like that aggression. I feel that more coaches should grow a pair and do the same. Chances are higher than people think that they're going to get the first down on fourth and short. The old belief is to just punt, even when it's fourth and inches. That is absurd to me.
November 21st, 2016 at 3:04 PM ^
I'm not even happy when we stop them on 3rd down because I'm waiting to see whether or not he's going for it, it's exhausting.

Not much to say about the article, but holy smokes that is a vastly better-looking blog than this one. I haven't visited elevenwarriers in years, but it currently makes this blog, in terms of layout and visuals (despite the colors), look like a holdover from 2008.

Depends on a few key variables. Storage, network traffic, etc.
I work with AWS (Amazon Web Services), it is scaleable and 'pay as you go'.
I think Brian, wants to keep that classic feel to mgoblog.

Dont get me wrong, Brian is a talented guy who has a bright future in multiple mediums related to Michigan and Big Ten football. But man he needs to update the aesthetics and structure of this site.
November 21st, 2016 at 9:53 PM ^
I don't know. I prefer this site over 11 Warriors and many others. Then again, I'm old, and I can read beyond a grade school level, so I don't have to be spoon fed everything through picture books anymore.

It's really incredible that Chase Winovich is second on the team in sacks. Kid plays his heart out every snap he gets. Hope he has a monster off-season and puts on a little size to defend the run. He's a lot of fun to watch.
November 21st, 2016 at 1:25 PM ^
has really come into his own in situational pass-rush situations.
Glad Brown knows how to use him effectively!
November 21st, 2016 at 1:31 PM ^
he was so hyped after one of his sacks that he shushed the home crowd. I think he's so amped after a sack that he doesn't even know how to celebrate right

In a few petulant and childish moments this season, I have cursed Channing Stribling's. Only 16 catches on 52 targets. I should just STFU.

this doesn't translate easily into English.
This is actually the ancient language R'lyehian - as chanted by the wide ranging Cthulhu Cult.
The closest approximation to an English translation is OPUSINGTHISWORDISADOUCHEBAG.

Don Brown should be given more credit than he gets already having these guys ready to execute his, especially by college football standards, complex schemes.
Just imagine the defense when the senior ladened team has been learning it for 4-5 years.

And still they refuse to give credit for 369 yards to the M's lack of interior DL last year. That's okay... I kinda hope they expect to run up the middle. 'Cuz if they do, it'll be stopped cold. And that puts them in passing situations, where the defense has a huge opportunity to win. Squeeze the pocket closed, giving Barrett nowhere to throw, or run. No need to force things and open up a lane - keep all pocket exit lanes closed and force JT to make a perfect throw.
Brown was hired to stop this offense. He wasn't hired to stop Iowa, MSU, or UW. He was hired to stop OSU. As well as the defense played, I really think Iowa was overlooked. And seeing the Indiana game convinces me even more. Providing the QB situation sorts itself out, I think Harbaugh has been looking to this game since the bye week.

Some of the comments are absolutely hilarious. They are literally talking about how the offensive gameplan should be to directly attack Peppers and Lewis.
Good luck with that one fellas!
November 21st, 2016 at 3:04 PM ^
attacking the enemy at the enemy's strongest point.
That didn't work well at Verdun or the Somme.

for decades with surprising success. Reverse psychology 101. The classic eff you to extraordinary claims by opponents.
"Oh, so you say you're run defense is your strength, well, we're gonna run right at you, and there isn't anything you can do to stop us."
Of course, against really stout defenses, if you live by the sword, then you gonna die by the sword.
Some teams have had good success running the ball against Michigan - MSU, Maryland and Iowa for example. But Michigan usually adjusted pretty well.
I like Michigan's chances to keep the game lower scoring.
I don't like Michigan's chances on offense unless Speight is slinging it downfield to keep the Buckeyes LBs and secondary honest.
November 21st, 2016 at 3:12 PM ^
there have been a couple of TV analysts doing our game who have advised the same thing,(not Lewis just Peppers) with the idea being Peppers can get enveloped by larger lineman blocking him. Which to be fair sometimes happens.
November 21st, 2016 at 3:56 PM ^
Regarding Lewis, the OSU commenters seem to believe that every guy he's defended this season has been Lewis' height or shorter. Just because Noah Brown is 6'2" doesn't mean he's going to beat Lewis all day long.
