Michigan Defense 2016: Let The Bodies Hit The Floor
I'm teaching myself how to video-edit, so I made this 2016 Defense highlight reel of the first 6 games.
Michigan Defense 2016: Seek & Destroy
Michigan Defense 2016: Let The Bodies Hit The Floor: https://youtu.be/Z9oNyxqewfo
Let me know what you think and enjoy!
*EDIT: Changed the title, per your wonderful feedback. Didn't even think about the confusion, but felt Seek & Destroy was such a great term for our D. Also, this is the first video I've ever made, so I'll take rest of feedback into account for future vids. Working on an offensive highlight reel, as well.

"Seek and Destroy" but the song isn't Seek and Destroy? Minus some points right off the bat.

that was my first thought as well. then I just assumed he's way too young to know that song.

as long as "he's way too young" doesn't mean that I'm old

behavior so unpredictable as to appear random, owing to great sensitivity to small changes in conditions.
LIKE IT, LOVE IT, WANT SOME MORE OF IT

Each clip is about 4 seconds in length. The video is 3:20 in length. This was made after six games and there are A LOT of plays. Did we have that many plays for the entire season last year? I know we didn't the previous two year combined. The Peppers blitz/sacks look like he was shot out of a cannon. Well done video.

A lot of them were included multiple times from different angles. But your point still stands.

+1 AllMaizeNohayes - incorporated old school Garth Brooks into football

I liked it

You take a coach with a mentality that says winners get to practice more, losers stay on the sideline and watch and they buy into it? Wow. Mix that with a DC that used the Dare to Stare approach and you're talking about a possible record setting defense.

No J Lew interception to seal the Wisconsin win???

From the title or the video, it seems the OP was more focused on big time hits for this video

Diversify angles more, play more with the rhythm of the shots/music, highlight important things through your editing. You have to tell the story about the defense, not just splice together random collections of cool hits.
Good luck!

Came into post exactly this. Your cuts are clean, but the song especially lends itself to certain synchronized elements. For example, when the singer is chanting numbers, "1, nothing wrong...2, nothing wrong..." that is begging for a hit each time. Use clips of the team lined up, flexing, rubbing their bellies, etc. to get the spacing right, and use the actual hits as accents. Also, I would've saved the first clip of the Peppers timed blitz as the crescendo and not the opening, but that's discretionary.

keep playing with the various shots as more footage comes in...but pretty good!

The Metallica title while laying over a 2001 Drowning Pool song is confusing... I was assuming age (I'm 27) but using Bodies which is still prime Metallica I don't get

The only thing I'd add to some of the other comments is show the play developing just a bit more. Many of the clips started with the D too close to the QB already and didn't allow the enjoyment of watching the O-lines get beat. Great first effort, though!

Is that what you call that? Loved the video, but the song sounded like it was by the same folks who did "In the Big House."

Maybe start each take from the snap, so it's a little easier to distinguish whats going on. It was hard to follow with the change of field postion, but otherwise, very good. I could watch highlights all day long. Especially at work.

video of tackling was fine, but I am an old dude so the music wasn't my style but you probably were not trying to hit me as the target audience. Nice work for first efforts otherwise.

which some punk decided to neg. I heard Saban clicked on this, then closed it after 23 seconds.

+1. My wife loves that song, and I hate it. It's not music. It's haunted house background noise.

the "music" is over the top. Too loud and noise-like. I agree with the comment above re: Haunted House music.

let alone putting the video together. I could watch Michigan's defense all day to any song right now. Thanks!

Love watching the D, but the theme song is sooo tired for videos of defenses. Also, I like the chaos you depict, but I would time it with the music. When the music picks up (some other music preferably), such as in the chorus, go with the shorter clips. Otherwise give us longer clips in which the play develops more. Chaos is good - only if we can see it in comparison to non-chaos.

Watched it again with seek and destroy playing. I feel that this part of the lyrics describe the defense accurately:
"There is no escape and that's for sure
This is the end, we won't take anymore
Say goodbye to the world you live in
You've always been taking and now you're giving"
