Thinking the Lions will be middle of the pack is more crazy. They weren't even middle of the pack last year - they won a bunch of meaningless games after ruining their season in record time. Also, their best wide receiver and cornerback from last season both retired.

If the O-line doesn't improve, they're likely 6-10. If it's more than adequate, maybe 9-7. It's a mediocre team not good enough to win the division or bad enough to get the top pick in the draft.

I admit it, I still own that 2008 preseason champions shirt that sold in a limited run, and I kept it as a cautionary tale about preseason performance and what is to be ascertained from it. Although it seems like you don't get much out of it typically nowadays given the way teams play it, at the same time, I also have that sinking feeling that we're in for something of a long season when it comes to the Lions....again....still.

He's #53, and playing the same position as Brennen Beyer (#45).

turnovers, penalties, missed tackles, and a back-up QB that should be selling insurance instead of shovel passes.
the good news: we'll all have our sundays free. no need to watch the lions. 59 years and counting....

Lol that was the WORST kick I've ever seen...did someone touch that I don't think I saw anyone?
August 27th, 2016 at 9:42 PM ^
Yeah that was really weird. It had good rotation at the start then just turned into a knuckleball. I don't think anyone touched it either.

The Jets & Giants used to always have M players, but this year they're down to only one each, both 9-year vets and stars, and both went out with injuries in the first half.
Leon Hall for the Giants, in his first year post-Bengals IR. Injury was after making a great tackle, but word is he may have had a concussion. David Harris has been with the Jets his whole career, still a starter, still playing at his best. Don't remember him ever having injury issues, but he looked like he was in pain. [Just reported that he has a shoulder injury. Saying he wouldn't have played in the 2nd half anyway. Some consolation.]
If it makes you feel better about the Lions, the Giants look awful, and apparently did so the last two weeks.

I checked PFF ratings for something unrelated a couple of months ago, and was surprised that the year Darrell Revis dominated the world for the Jets (before he left) and was PFF's top scoring defender, the second best defender according to PFF was... David Harris.
That's pretty good.
BTW the Bears look wretched, also.

Typical Lions stupid ass out of bounds penalty

Spielman is doing a nice job announcing this game I have to admit. All the little details he brings in are nice.
Fuckin Lions guys don't really look like they are playing for their NFL lives.
