Brian has to be losing traffic. I don't understand the logistics concerning fixing the site, but it seems like it should be priority #1 given this is his livelihood. I haven't been on nearly as much as usual because of the issues here lately.
And yet every time I have said the same thing I get negbombed.
if the site is down. For me, I don't click here any less because the site might be down. If it's down, it's down. If it's not, then great I can peruse. You're telling us that you don't even click here because the site "might" be down?
I think you should re-read what I wrote. I said I'm here less than usual due to the issues. How do you take away what you did from what I typed?
And I don't mean he's just losing traffic when the site is down, I mean in general. I have honestly never had a website that I visit regularly go down as often as this here blog. It is what it is I guess. That's all, so please don't try to read something into it that I didn't say.

...there's little for me to be upset about. From what I've heard, the products you can purchase through here, like HTTV, are top notch and worth the money.
Then again, I rarely check this site after games and look elsewhere for information because I expect this site to be down. On Selection Sunday, I found out about the leaked bracket and other tidbits on Twitter. The site was DOA the first time I visited, and didn't return until late Sunday night.

I really wish people wouldn't read in words that aren't there. I did not say, or imply that I'm upset about it. Merely making a comment about the state of the blog.

As someone who spends way too much time on this site, even I have been dialing it back quite a bit lately due to the performance issues.
This is supposed to be the premier blog for Michigan Sports. The content is great and so are many of the forum posters. Unfortunately for the site's owners, I have to go elsewhere for information when any "breaking news" related to Michigan Athletics happens because this site is down.
If it's not costing Brian and Co money now, it will eventually. Advertisers will notice shit like that sooner or later.

Agreed completely, and that's all I was trying to say. No personal commentary, just the facts.

Win is a win. Go Blue!

We knew that on Sunday. Now we have won a game in the tourney.

So we won our first game of the tourney and now we are playing a first round game? I see his point where it is not really a tournament win. We did not even have a seed in the tourney until we won the game.

both teams were seeded #11
It doesn't make him sound like a Sparty fan. Just because he says something you disagree with doesn't mean you need to bring out the "you must be a Sparty" foolishness.

Exactly, thank you. It isn't mine (or yours) decision to make whether Michigan won a tournament game last night, we did. The Sparty aspect is trying to go back and say it doesn't count because (fill in the blank).

than watch that game again.

Ugh... time to go change my brackets that had Michigan going to the Sweet 16 for some reason.

it's no different then the MLB's wildcard games. the teams that play in those games are still mlb playoff teams and if they win, it's a mlb playoff win; just like the first four games in the nca tourny.

- The First Four is over.
- The First Round is upcoming.
- Michigan is 1-0 in the 2016 NCAA Basketball Tournament.
Done and done.
Concise.
Direct.
Definitive.
They stopped doing that because they finally decided to let common sense take over for participation trophy bullshit. They used to call the first round the "second round" so as not to hurt any feelings by ever insinuating that the "First Four" wasn't actually in the tournament. Then they realized that was stupid and confusing.
Yes they still call it a tournament game and yes now Michigan gets to technically put a tourney win on the resume, and still yes, for all practical intents and purposes, that was a play-in game to let you get to the actual Dance. Including the original intent behind the "First Four", which was to make at-large teams prove they belonged.

There's an old saying: How many legs does a dog have, if you call its tail a leg? Four. Calling a tail a leg doesn't make it one.
Likewise, I know what goes into the record book. That's great. I also know what walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.
I also think it's funny that someone who uses a phrase for their username that's actively disavowed by 99.9% of the fanbase, would call other people "supposed" Michigan fans.
