OT: Best Car Cruising Songs
Since we broke the 70 degree mark yesterday .............. it only seems appropiate.
Love heavy beats that make you want to thump your hand on the car top while cruising.
My all-time favorite is "Takin' Care of Business" by Bachman Turner Overdrive!
Sloop John B by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
The Beach Boys version is fine too.
They play that song after Packer touchdowns. Tainted for-eh-ver.
The Doors - L.A. Woman

Many many others as well

Or just listen straight thru
Bob Seger was popular before my time, but there's a certain ageless quality to his voice. It's almost the epitome of rock music voices.
Hollywood Nights is a great crusing song, especially when you are in . . . Hollywood.
Turn the Page, every version, live or not, covers or not. The Metallica cover is great.
How could you go wrong with a legend from AA? All of his songs are great.
For me, this tops them all, every minute of the nearly 23 minutes that they wrote of it...

as a Ridah, by 2Pac, obviously.
Blasted Pointer Sisters "New Attitude" from her iTunes at a stop light in my truck, windows down. Had no choice but to own it

Beethoven's 5th Symphony.
Carmina Burana is good too.
/No, I'm not a psychopath. Why do you ask?
I am going to assume you have a deceptively deep trunk
The Ride of the Valkyries by Richard Wagner on full blast. While wearing one of these:
I'll need to shave first.
Is an excellent choice. It's too bad that Hitler turned Wagner into the soundtrack for the Holocaust. Some of his stuff was very good.
The Prelude to Tristan und Isolde has some really wonderful harmonies.
Spottieottiedopaliscious
Live at Fillmore East - Allman Bros
like this music too much if you only wait until its 70 out to blare it. Bump it with the windows up, its for YOUR enjoyment, no one else gives a crap what you are playing!
I remember blasting Phil Collins "I Wish it Would Rain" with the windows down one time. I was kind of zoned out while turning off a main road into a subdivison. When I was stopped at a stop sign next to this house, it hadn't occured to me that I still had the volume cranked. I looked at the yard next me and saw a party of about 10-15 people standing around a bonfire just staring at me in silence. A little embarrasing, for sure.
funny. I had a similar experience with Total Eclipse of the Heart at a gas station.

Don't know if anyone on here is familiar with Terry Allen, but his album 'Lubbock on Everything" is fantastic driving music. IMO, OC
Ice Cube: You know how we do it
Almost any song by the Eagles
Almost any song by Jimmy Buffet
Almost any song by Van Halen (and even a few by Van Hagar)....so pre-Gary Cherone (sp?) on VH III
If you're young:
Scorpions - The Zoo Live.
Now:
Just about anything, but Rush 2112, Alphaville Forever Young are on repeat currently.
Call Me The Breeze
We used to go "road trip!" in college and put in Europe '72 by the Dead.
I still do this on family trips, much to the suffering of the teenagers in the car.
Picture Me Rollin
The songs that bookend the movie "Drive".
Opening - "Nightcall" by Kavinsky:
Closing "A Real Hero" by College & Electric Youth:
Baby I don't care.
Seriously anything. Or the Cosmo's Factory album by CCR
I cannot believe it took this far down the thread for ZZ Top to be mentioned.
