I was assuming this was about some awesome island off the coast of South Carolina where Michigan would be holding spring practice or games. Disappointed to say the least.
EDIT: I will admit to clicking the link. The best thing about it was the PF Chang's advertisement at the bottom.

Is "sneakerhead" really a thing? There are adults really that into athletic shoes?
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

May I direct your attention to this wonder.

My sister, who is a freelance illustrator and comic book artist who has done extensive work in the MLP franchise, will not do this convention anymore for various reasons. The biggest one is the lot of people who have made the franchise their life and have no sense of humor about it. Indeed, one time my sister had to take time out from her booth (fortunately, she has an assistant) to comfort a grown man because who was bawling over the portrayal of a character in the show. I can't imagine being that devoted to anything that you've lost perspective, and neither could my sister as that happened about a day before she told the organizers she would not be back.
Oh, and I am the one to whom Mgotri refers, in case it wasn't clear. Yeah, I wouldn't touch that convention either, based on what I've heard.

So in your free time you watch My Little Pony ? Just wondering; I watch pokemon on rare occasion.

The only appropriate "comfort" for a grown man actually weeping over the depiction of a cartoon character is a hard kick in the nutsack.

Tell that to my friend who made about $5,000 last year just by selling off the one he didn't want to keep.

apparently, there is this concept of a "showstopper"; that's when your ostentatious hat matches your ostentatious shoes. I have a buddy who would go to shoe swap meets - and he said it all with pride...

Is there a reason everyone is forgetting to use OT?
This and the Barry Sanders Jr. topic need to both be OT
February 11th, 2016 at 6:09 PM ^
At least the Barry Sanders Jr. thread is about sports, rather than retail clothing.

I used to be a "sneakerhead." I started collecting the shoes (mostly Jordans) I desperately wanted as a kid, but my father wouldn't allow me to get-- he thought $85 for basketball shoes (again, Jordans) was ridiculous-- looking back, he was probably right. I got a job with Nike shortly after college, and that only fed my silly addiction. After amassing over 200 pairs, I eventually grew up a bit, priorities change (not to mention moving every few years for the Army makes it all impractical), so I've kicked the habit.
Anyway, sorry for the tl;dr story. Just wanted to let all those who don't understand an obsession with something as silly as sneakers know that for some, it's not so much the shoes, but the connection to childhood. Thanks for the link OP, for me it was an interesting read.

No, that's Bongbong Marcos.

Wow, lots of negative feedback for this post. I didn't think it needed an OT designation given all the earlier posts about M's switch to being a Nike school, and the fact that BB and FB will be "Air" teams. Returning to lurker status.
