He got Perrilouxed.

He had no good quarterback. Next year, he'll have a real option in Russell Shepard. As a Michigan fan, this explanation should be quite obvious.

OLD MILES, NEW SABAN!!!
what

I don't think they'd be too much better with Perrilloux, but I suspect they'd have at least another win or two.
Look at the Georgia game. They lost, 52-38, but Georgia scored two touchdowns off of Lee interceptions. LSU actually outgained them.
Or the Alabama game. They lost in OT, but Lee threw another pick 6 and had a total of four interceptions.
It's not a given that they would have won either of those games with Perrilloux, of course, but I think they'd have won at least another game or two with him.

i still think Les is overrated but the fact that his QB's were sub-par doesn't help anything. for the reoord, Sheridan/Threet/Feagin were FAR worse than Hatch/Lee/Jefferson.

you could make that same statement about our QB group vs. approximately 80 or so of the 119 Major schools

definitely, not many D1 schools have basically a D2 QB and a defensive back in their QB rotation

it's more like 110.

les has been there 4 years, he shouldn't be having the same QB troubles that we are. there should have been another decent QB there besides perriloux. that's on les

Jordan Jefferson is a freshman.
Russell Shepard is coming in next year.
Perriloux would have been a junior?
Hatch/Lee are sophs I think.
I'm pretty sure it's a different situation than having Sheridan/Feagin/Threet.

We didn't have a good backup for a couple years when Henne was our QB. It happens sometimes, you have to hope you get away with it. Especially when your talented QB is dismissed from the team, that results in a 4 year hole that you can't really anticipate.

LSU has a lot more problems than just at QB. Their defense allowed way too many points and yards to just so-so teams.
Saying this is all just a QB problem -- I don't buy it.

Yes, the defense has really fallen off from last year. On the other hand, they had a stretch last year where their defense wasn't all that good, either.
No, good QB play is probably worth somewhere between one to three wins to them. At 9-3 they're still a disappointment after last year, but you're not wondering what the hell happened to them.
