Actually a really good question...I'd be interested to see the numbers.

MSU. Perhaps I am way off, but I didn't think Notre Dame had as much pure luck in their season to prevent losses. MSU was in several close games against TERRIBLE teams this year. So satisfying to see them exposed just as it was in 2012 with ND

I'd have to go with Notre Dame. I mean, not many people were giving MSU a lot of respect and over hyped praise this year. Many people looked at them as being fortunate with some of their wins.

I'm going to go with State by a nose. They were both greatly overrated.

ND beat the Pac 12 and Big 12 champions( stanford and oklahoma by 18 in Norman... Also beat MSU by 17 in EL and beat Southern Cal, Michigan and BYU. not exactly a bad resume.
January 1st, 2016 at 12:05 AM ^
That's true. They could have beaten a bunch of teams that year, although they did have some close games against Stanford and BC. I think they would have beaten 2015 MSU. Alabama can be a tough nut to crack, as we (and many others) have learned.

Pitt was the game they got mega lucky in If I remember correctly.

You're absolutely right. Pitt missed a game-winning field goal and then lost in overtime.

K-State was the Big12 champ.

MSU was more overrated. They lucked out victories all year

That Notre Dame team went undefeated in the regular season including wins against UM, MSU, Oklahoma, USC, Miami, and Stanford. Their resume was so much better than 2015 MSU it's apples and oranges. Both got exposed but only one of them didn't score a point in doing so.
January 1st, 2016 at 11:18 AM ^
To be fair, MSU did beat Ohio State, Michigan, Iowa and Oregon.
Neither team had bad seasons, they just got lucky and once that ran out, they were exposed as the 3/4 loss teams they were.

That ND game was over by the end of the 1st quarter. Seriously ... by the end of the first quarter of that ND game it was so painfully obvious Alabama was toying with a very overmatched ND team.
Tonight's game was plausibly close until the 3rd. Alabama wore MSU down. But it took more than a quarter to show it.
Maybe the 2011 Alabama team was that much better. But if I compare the two games, MSU put in a better showing at first, but fell apart in the 2nd half.

had the ball bounced our way this year and we somehow beat OSU and Iowa that could have been us getting emaciated tonight, or worse next Monday.
So cool it.
