TCU star QB Trevone Boykin arrested for striking a police officer

ASS
...and selfishly he ruined my favorite bowl matchup this season (non-Michigan). Boykin vs. Adams was going to be awesome.
Fuck that guy for that, learn how to control yourself.
BTW, he was arrested for more than just hitting the assault on the officer.

Boykin and the people with him were removed from the bar, but the fight continued, according to reports. San Antonio bicycle police officers arrived at the scene and tried to stop the fight with the help of bar bouncers. Boykin reportedly threw an "indiscriminate" punch that struck an officer.
After officers threatened to use a stun gun on Boykin, he was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and public intoxication, according to reports.

Lt. Jim Dangle and his bicycle misadventures
OBVIOUSLY harming police officers isn't a good idea and wrong.

Agreed. Self control is a must, and clocking police officers usually does not end well.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. Let's wait for the inevitable upload of blurry footage from someone who was there with a smartphone. I've read enough "six self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the back of the head" stories with damning video evidence to the exact contrary of law enforcement's story to raise an eyebrow whenever the police claim a black guy assaulted them.
They have so little credibility these days, I want proof or STFU.

He's not going to get all of that information out in his favor in a matter of 2 days.
I couldn't care less what happens a week from now, you weren't reading correctly...this is about ME and my personal enjoyment of college football. Not what did or didn't happen.
My point is you can't put yourself in that position at all. Now his coach has to suspend him until the facts come out.
If the fact come out in his favor...great. It helps his NFL draft stock and he doesn't have it on his record.
But regardless, he's not playing on January 2nd. Because if he did and the facts DIDN'T come out in his favor, well, no coach in the country is going to risk that. Especially for a kid who's career is done. Except maybe Jimbo Fisher, maybe.
It's not like they can say "we'll wait for the facts to come out" and then suspend him next year if it doesn't turn out well for him. There is no next year. He gone unless that footage you're talking about surfaces in the next 24 hours and he's shown helping some old lady across the street while this scuffle was taking place.

Mr. Yost and how the world relates to Mr. Yost!
I can see that you're the victim here. It's plain as day. I hope Boykin has the decency to send you a note of apology. In the meantime, please accept this sincere (and totally platonic) internet hug.
Hey - have you been working out?
December 31st, 2015 at 8:01 AM ^
And I can see that you can't take a joke this morning.
And I thought it was "We Are The World?" Michael Jackson, right?
December 31st, 2015 at 8:07 AM ^
I was just trying to play along. Clumsily, it appears. But I thought your overplaying the "it's all about me" schtick was well done.
I'll go sit in the corner now.

There is a significant amount of video evidence that has come out going against what law enforcement says on a continuous basis to legitimately question them regardless of race (see most recent California cop shooting white car crash victim twice on dash cam video and still not getting prosecuted).
Now is this Boykin case one of those cases? Probably not b/c we've all seen this rodeo before every year prior to big bowl games (even if Thabo Sefolosha got shafted by police). College kids are stupid. Plain and simple.

I don't think anyone has any problem with recorded arrests that were conducted lawfully. Which may well have been the case here. But professionals in many other fields consider vigilance to be routine, even necessary as a counter to their own fallibility, so I find it telling that you consider accountability to be offensive in this context.
This hyperbolic shriek for blind faith doesn't bolster my confidence in law enforcement. When someone says "you need to trust me/us/them" I only get more suspicious because that phrase is never used without ill intentions.

...with a little healthy skepticism. While we can hope that facts will present themselves, it's also worth remembering that sometimes bad actors are the ones controlling the facts.
But yeah, he probably punched a cop. College!

are turning a blind eye towards the dirty 1%. Sorry, that Blue Wall of Silence is an indictment of them all.
December 31st, 2015 at 10:33 AM ^
Bullshit POV dude. Thousands of arrests are made each day with no incidents yet you form your entire opinion of the police by a couple well publicized cases. Pure bullshit.
December 31st, 2015 at 11:12 AM ^
It's quite telling that you're personally offended that I don't trust a police report on blind faith. Let me put it bluntly: I trust NO ONE on blind faith. Even my closest friends are held to standards of responsibility, and I consider them friends precisely because they embrace that accountability. In a more vocational context, the best professionals don't even trust their own judgement.
The more you scream that any opinion other than complete abdication of vigilance is "pure bullshit", the more it looks like my reasons to be suspicious are perfectly justified.

He's a 5th year senior and is probably already in Florida at the IMG Academy working on his 40 so he can transition to WR for the Cowboys as a 4th round pick.

I'm sooo salty, I can't get over this. I wanted to watch that game sooooo bad. And this selfish guy took that away from me.
I was playing my dang butt off, and the (Boykin) is SCREWIN' IT UP!
They even had these sweet endzone designs...

I enjoy college football and it's almost over. Can you not tell that I'm only being halfway serious?
And no, there are other games I want to see outside of Michigan which is far and away the most important to me. But that's why I watch college football every weekend and stay up past midnight on Saturday getting my fix for the week.
This was a big matchup and it was my favorite matchup outside of the Michigan game. Is that really a crime to be "salty" or disappointed that one of the best players and star QB for one of the teams isn't going to play?
If it's Panthers/Patriots in the Super Bowl and Tom Brady or Cam Newton didn't play...I'd be a little salty about that too (unless I was a fan of the other team). Should I only be concerned about the team I root for in the NFL?
Michigan doesn't even play on January 2nd, our season is over by that point.
