Pretty crappy hire to be honest.
December 6th, 2015 at 12:54 AM ^
must have lied on his resume and not had his tenure as head coach at Florida on it. At the same time, South Carolina must not have realize he was head coach at Florida.

Wait, so your work history only goes back a year, what did you do before then? A: Oh, just sabbatical, a learning sabbatical, went back to school, studied filmmaking, yeah.

I was thinking the opposite. Florida HC? All right! Let's do it again!
December 6th, 2015 at 1:28 AM ^
Is it in the S. Carolina laws that they can only hire former Florida coaches? If that is the case, why to love for Ron Zook and how long till urbz heads there?

The Peter Principle in action: Will Muschamp is once again promote to his level of incompetence. When wiill they learn?
December 6th, 2015 at 1:58 AM ^
Well, the last time they hired a former Florida coach, it worked out, guess they figured they are fungible

Muschamp didn't get a look from any other Power 5 school, even with a record number of openings. S. Carolina was getting desperate with every good candidate landing elsewhere or turning them down. In three years, worst case scenario for Muschamp is going back to being a high level DC with a bigger bank account. Admittedly the worst case scenario is a very likely one.

At some point, you have to take who you can get.
December 6th, 2015 at 12:54 AM ^
Honestly... Rich Rod might've been the better option if Muschamp is the fallback...
December 6th, 2015 at 6:58 AM ^
Word is RR turned them down...so I guess they thought so too

I can't tell all of what he's saying, but he definitely starts off with "I Pooped!"

LOL..I think that was the fleeting moment of indecision...when a part of him was telling him to think twice...and the cameras are on you.

Also probably means Auburn is hosed on defense. Didn't they pay Muschamp a stupid amount of money and they only get 1 year out of him haha
December 6th, 2015 at 2:04 AM ^
Smart or Muschamp is going to take Robinson. And Auburn losing him and Muschamp means that defense is pretty screwed, and could mean Gus is screwed as well.

If Muschamp went to UGA as was being rumored, that would leave Pruitt in about the same position he is now. I think Pruitt stays in the SEC if that's what he wants to do. He comes here if Harbaugh wants him and he's open to it. It's objectively a better job for an established DC.
His contract situation is different than Richt's. He'll be owed $1.3M each of the next two years if he is fired, but any salary would be deducted from his buyout. It will be interesting to see if that has any impact in where he lands.

South Carolina is about to fade back into pre-Spurrier obscurity.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:00 AM ^
Maybe pre Skip Holtz obscurity.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:02 AM ^
Lou Holtz*
And he was pretty insignificant at South Carolina.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:05 AM ^
seemed reraaaly obscure.

Where the hell is Brady Hoke? No offers at all?
December 6th, 2015 at 1:01 AM ^
Who the hell would offer Brady Hoke a job as head coach after seeing the quagmire he pulled off at Michigan?
December 6th, 2015 at 1:09 AM ^
MAC school? He can get them to 11-2 by at least his 5th year.
December 6th, 2015 at 1:16 AM ^
BGSU is open!
I thought Toledo should've went after him.
December 6th, 2015 at 2:02 AM ^
BG doesn't run the system he wants.
He's either going to torpedo them immediately by going MANBAWL or torpedo them eventually by slowly transitioning to his MANBAWL.
December 6th, 2015 at 7:43 AM ^
You're probably thinking of Coach Brandon. Coach Hoke was down with the spread at SDSU.
