If you look at everything outside of Michigan, he has had a pretty big bounce everywhere. He has taken real bad defenses and turned them into top 15 everywhere (except Michigan). The only issue i see is he was primarily a DB coach. I think this would make sense if Zordich would follow Durkin to Maryland. Otherwise we'd have three coaches that have backgrounds coaching the secondary.

get the money rodeo gif ready.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:23 PM ^
Money rodeo? Is that Dave Brandon in a cowboy hat riding on a Bull (presented by Chobani) in an arena of marketing execs?
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:26 PM ^
I think he wants to get the money ready for when he goes shopping on Rodeo Dr.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:27 PM ^
Can't type today guys and now I can't edit it. I meant the MONKEY Rodeo; for some reason I love that gif, and it seems useful now.

known Durkin will be gone. He probably has already made some inquires. I still believe he may dip into the NFL for a DC. Nothing like a highly regarding defense coach form the NFL to lure recruits. They all aspire to play in the NFL.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:26 PM ^
I'll take Teryl Austin, if the Lions end up cleaning house at the end of the season.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:27 PM ^
I wonder if we can wait that long (early January).
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:37 PM ^
He said the end of the Lions season, which was like six weeks ago.

No NFL coach would spurn NFL offers to coach at Michigan.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
seem like a viable candidate. True, he worked for JH before. He bailed on him after one season or he was pushed out. Either way sounds unpromising for him to return to AA.

Jerry Montgomery?

He quit a month later to be an assistant DL coach in Green Bay.

Was Michigan's destruction at the hands of Juice Williams and Illinois before or after RR imposed the 3-3-5 on Shafer?
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:24 PM ^
I think that was under the careful, watchful eye of GERG.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:43 PM ^
Fair enough.
I had the next year's debacle at Illinois on the brain. The one where Roundtree didn't score and everything went straight to hell on a rocket sled right after that.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:25 PM ^
BEFORE.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:41 PM ^
That was only one game, but I remember thinking Shafer had made his own bed that season as much as RR had sunk him.

Hackett's only role here is probably to approve the salary and run a background check before signing off. The head coach usually calls all the shots when it comes to filling out his staff.

Harbaugh is Rashan Gary's primary recruiter. Ronald Johnson and Jordan Elliott (TX) already confirmed on twitter that they're staying committed.
By the way, did you hear Jordan Elliott committed today?

how is the 21st time dick...../s
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:36 PM ^
I'm less worried about immediate fallout in our class and more worried about having an ace recruiter on the east coast to compete with in the future. If he's successful there, this division is just a nightmare right now. 2 truly elite programs (OSU, MSU), 1 likely to be at that level in the next year (UM), 1 blueblood that could be resurrected at any time (PSU), 1 crazy-good offensive wildcard to deal with every year (IU), and Maryland with some potential under Durkin.
Sucks to be Rutgers.
December 2nd, 2015 at 2:42 PM ^
If Penn State, with a really good recruiter as its head coach, can't beat Michigan for NJ recruits, then what makes you think Durkin and Maryland will be able to?
