Will Rudock get drafted?
So I guess the fact that this is not a rhetorical question is nice.
I've seen several comments that suggest people on this board think that Rudock will get drafted. I... definitely wouldn't put myself in that camp, but the fact that this is even a discussion should raise the interest of every HS QB out there.
I'm not even sure that he gets signed as an UDFA. If his entire college career played out like the last two weeks, sure. But I can't see him being in the discussion. Hats off to Rudock and Harbaugh for even eliciting this post.
I'm just curious, are the people calling for Rudock to the NFL part of the delusional fanbase that has a very short memory? Or am I underselling his potential?

Perhaps a very late rounder, but I have a feeling he won't. Someone might sign him as a free agent.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:07 AM ^
Maybe 6th round to be a career backup.

/Tom Brady rolls eyes

///Obliterates entire NFL some more

Let's see how he does against PSU and OSU.
If he plays lights out, then I could see it.

The next two games will tell a lot. Remember, that Cardale Jones was the second coming based on three games he played the end of last season so anything is possible. Now, his stock has fallen. Point being that things can change a lot in a short time.
I am sure that if Harbaugh thinks Jake has serious NFL potential, there will be people in the NFL that would take Harbaugh's recommendation very seriously.

I still can't figure out why someone who "ain't come here to play school" decided to go back instead of capitalizing on his inflated draft status.
November 17th, 2015 at 1:24 PM ^
He got bad advice would be my guess.
November 17th, 2015 at 2:59 PM ^
I'm glad I wasn't bound to every dumb thing I said when I was 18-19 years old, for the rest of my life.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:12 AM ^
Agreed. If he keeps up his recent performance, he'll probably be a late pick. The Harbaugh effect might even boost his status a bit.

if he plays well the rest of the season, he might get drafted in the 6th or 7th rounds.

From benched for Wilton Speight 17 days ago, to first rounder now. Like George Jefferson, Rudock is MOVIN' ON UP!!!!

Benched?

Don't you know, Sheldon Cooper... I mean people on this board.... cannot comprehend/detect sarcasm. It's really quite scary.
November 17th, 2015 at 10:52 AM ^
Are you missing the /s ?
November 17th, 2015 at 10:57 AM ^
People on this board are positively sarcasm-challenged...
November 17th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
On the Internet, the "/s" is sometimes needed. Clearly you needed it with your other comment.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
November 17th, 2015 at 11:06 AM ^
I also refuse to use the /s tag.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:17 AM ^
Adding the / s to a sarcastic statement is like saying, "OK, I am about to tell you a joke. Therefore, at the end of my final sentence, you are supposed to laugh." It ruins everything...
November 17th, 2015 at 11:44 AM ^
More so than orally, wouldn't you agree? It is much easier to convey meaning with word inflection and tone while speaking than it is with the written word. Or have you never read a phrase such as "....., he said with a sarcastic tone?"
November 17th, 2015 at 11:41 AM ^
Never assume too much on the part of the reader.
November 17th, 2015 at 1:39 PM ^
If the "/s" isn't universally accepted, and someone writes a sarcastic sentence using /s, essentially saying I am being sarcastic about my sarcasm, doesn't that cross out the sarcasm within said sentence??? Anarchy reigns supreme!
November 17th, 2015 at 11:24 AM ^
Sarcasm has a lot to do with tone, if you ask me. To expect everyone to detect your sarcasm through a written comment on a sports blog is silly. Especially considering a lot of people on here wanted Speight to start a week ago.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:36 AM ^
I understood that it was sarcasm, but it seems like you're mocking the guy, and that's not real cool.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:40 AM ^
he was mocking the people calling for Rudock to be benched in favor of Speight.
November 17th, 2015 at 11:42 AM ^
Maybe the first part of his post. But the second part reads like a Bronx cheer.
November 17th, 2015 at 12:21 PM ^
I think it was an academic comment on the tendency for society to drastically swing their impressions on a subject based on recent events. Real heady stuff.
November 17th, 2015 at 1:03 PM ^
That is exactly right. Literally two weeks ago today, people on this board were wondering alound if Speight should start because he went 3-6 against Minnesota with a TD pass. Two weeks later, we have a post (not by the same person, mind you) about if he'll get drafted. It is pretty scary how quickly opinions can swing. That was all I was trying to say. From now on, I shall end every even slightly sarcastic sentence with an /s/s/s/s/s/s/s/s/s/s/s
November 17th, 2015 at 1:17 PM ^
Being the OP - I must expressly comment that I do not believe he will get drafted. I was simply sticking a thermometer into the writhing inner-workings of the blog to see what it would read.

The Blog isn't done yet; let it cook for 60 more minutes on 300 degrees, baste, then re-check.

Left the game due to an injury is diffrenet from being 'benched'. Check your hyperbole.

I think the next two or three (hopefully four) games will have a big impact on that question. If we see more performances like the last two against the improved competition, I do think someone will want to pick him up.
November 17th, 2015 at 10:50 AM ^
But don't we want 5 games? PSU, OSU, Iowa, CFP Game 1, NC?
November 17th, 2015 at 11:12 AM ^
PSU, Ohio State, Iowa, Rose Bowl.
I honestly do not think Michigan belongs in the National Championship playoff. I just don't, and I'd rather they be in the hunt and hungry for that next year.
November 17th, 2015 at 12:37 PM ^
If Michigan were to win out, win at Indy, be selected for and then win Rd 1 of the CFP, that doesn't mean they can't be in the hunt and hungry next year as well. In fact, I find it rather exciting to think that Michigan is in the national conversation this year, and will continue to be so in years yet to come.
