Wear that Blue michigan long sleeve sideline pullover UNDERNEATH your Maize, dammit!
We can't afford to lose your luck!!!

Just amazing. So crazy to think about where we were a year ago compared to today. By Sunday afternoon we could be talking about a unanimous top 10 team with a realistic path to the playoff. Can't believe it...
October 13th, 2015 at 12:04 PM ^
may take us through Indy for a battle between Rudock and Iowa. How interesting would that be?
October 13th, 2015 at 12:40 PM ^
Haha that would be obviously a crazy storyline. That would have to be one of the first time a grad transfer played his old team.
October 13th, 2015 at 3:25 PM ^
Oregon played Vernon Adam's old team the first game of the season.

I'm not sure whether to laugh maniacally in San Francisco's direction or to just feel sympathy for them. I think I laugh maniacally at Jed York, smirk at 49ers fans, then feel better for said fans because now they have no Harbaugh, an idiot running the team still, and basically NFL Kyle Flood coaching the team
October 13th, 2015 at 10:56 AM ^
Not a fan of the maize out. I don't think we pull it off well.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:58 AM ^
Plus you're going to get lots of traditional Michigan Maize and plenty of Adidas Highlighter yellow, too. It's bascially going to look like Seth's color chart.

Agree. They should save it for warm night games.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:06 AM ^
I object to this accusation of non-possession of maize jackets.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:11 AM ^
Me too. I have one.
October 13th, 2015 at 1:28 PM ^
Samesies. It is a maize blazer.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:30 AM ^
I have a hoodie but not a full on jacket -- put it this way, it's rare and you can't count on 110,000 people having one like you can a t-shirt. Hell t-shirts they can pass out for free.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:17 AM ^
Correct, which is why pom poms NEED to be given to everyone with a ticket.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:20 AM ^
Nothing scares an opponent like pom poms. Make noise.
October 13th, 2015 at 12:01 PM ^
it gives a much more uniform maize appearance to the crowd when people are using them
Look at how beautiful this is:
October 13th, 2015 at 1:44 PM ^
Such an amazing night. I want to go back... just that game though.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:28 AM ^
They're giving away 60,000 poms.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:36 AM ^
Do what I did. Maize Hockey Jersey
October 13th, 2015 at 11:00 AM ^
Blue is a much more practical long-sleeve/sweatshirt color (particularly vs. the recent highlighter maize) so I think maize outs should be limited to September.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:39 AM ^
Pom Poms.
Otherwise it's just a normal Michigan game. With maize and blue and the student section being a little more maizer than the rest of the crowd.
I don't think this is something that is organized anymore...something heavily promoted where they really want to see if everyone shows up to a game in 50 degree weather with maize on.
They just force the issue with the pom poms and call it a day.

Not a fan of the maize out. I don't think we pull it off well.
I wouldn't say that:
But it is, admittedly, harder to pull off when it's cold.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:57 AM ^
That's correct. Seems like blue would be a lot easier given the chilly weather though.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:59 AM ^
Blue never works...it just looks like every game in the 90's.
I understand it would be easier...but all they have to do is put those damn pom poms out and it really doesn't matter what color jacket people wear.
That said...Go Blue. Wear Maize.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
Get ready for your lifetime ban if Brian reads this.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:06 AM ^
I said "damn pom poms"
I'm not saying I like them...I'm saying that's how you execute a maize out a Michigan Stadium.
When it worked for the UTL games...was everyone wearing maize? No. The student section was and "more than normal" with the rest of the stadium.
However, it looks like a sea of maize with the pom poms.
It won't have much to do with what people are wearing...I feel like the 2004 excuse of "but I don't have a maize jacket" is old. Very few of us have a maize jacket, but a lot of older folks never wore maize to begin with.
But for whatever reason, they'll wave those pom poms while bouncing up and down to RAWK and White Stripes like it's the coolest thing ever.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:11 AM ^
With pom poms
Without
Again, I'm not saying I like the damn things...I'm just saying we need to stop bitching about the navy hat you may be wearing to the game. It doesn't matter. There's only one way we've seen it work.
Go back and look at the UTL videos and see how many people are wearing navy and white. A TON. But it doesn't look like this "without" picture because of all the pom poms.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:39 AM ^
You don't need to beat around the bush. If you like pom-poms, it's OK. You don't have to turn in your man card.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:59 AM ^
Blue Outs look terrible. So does any "out" that is a dark color, besides black in some circumstances.
When you wear a dark color, it makes the opposing fans stick out even more and look like their representation is inflated. I don't want the sparty white sticking out.
There is a reason all of our recruiting graphics ever included scenes of the Big House from the maized out games.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:03 AM ^
I'm not too worried about MSU fans sticking out. Have you seen the ticket prices? Other than Dan Gilbert, how many Sparties can afford that price?
October 13th, 2015 at 11:00 AM ^
All of my long sleeve apparell is Blue. All the people I know are in the same boat. I also think it would look very slick - almost like a black out some schools do - once the lights start going out to have it be all blue. That's just one mans opinion though, and it wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:12 AM ^
It's only supposed to be a high of 51F on Saturday. Just wear a maize shirt overtop of your blue long sleeve.
October 13th, 2015 at 10:57 AM ^
Go Blue! Wear Maize.

Not too many maize coats around. Stretch a maize t-shirt over your coat to be in business!
October 13th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
Maize Out and Pom Pom giveaway. Generally speaking I find that our fanbase doesn't go all in on these (the Maize out) so the pom pom sort of complete the deal
October 13th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
Would be great if they had super cheap large maize shirts people could wear over their jackets for the game.
October 13th, 2015 at 11:05 AM ^
Is it really that hard to have one or two xxl maize michigan shirts you can put on over your jacket? In the student section people throw maize shirts over sweathshirts all the time, you ever notice that the student section is still wearing maize in november. It isn't really complicated.
