MGoPodcast 7.2: Hyperviolence
1 hour 17 minutes
Harbaugh w/ Jon Falk [Eric Upchurch]
OFFENSE
Mashing mashers mash a team that's probably not at all good at football. Smith's re-enactment of Kill Bill. Tight end profusions.
DEFENSE
Uh… they did very well? Wormley mentioned but we kind of run out of things to say because Oregon State was overwhelmed so thoroughly.
SPECIAL TEAMS AND MISC
Gary Andersen ate it from the gods of probability. Special teams otherwise uneventful but okay.
TALKIN' BIG TEN WITH JAMIEMAC
Maryland… what are you doing Maryland? Do we still have a warranty on these guys? No?
MUSIC
"Across 110th Street"
"Wrecking Force," Voxtrot
"That Teenage Feeling," Neko Case
"Begin The Begin," REM

I'll listen to this after work today, but it's necessary to note that it's GREAT to see Jon Falk back involved with the program. Reading between the lines of JUB's painful insistence on not commenting on the matter, there was definitely something fishy behind the scenes surrounding his "retirement". Big Jon is nothing but an asset to the program and he should be around the team whenever possible.

"Do we still have a warranty on these guys?"
They're the number 1 NCAA basketball team this year and were very good last year. They may be struggling in football, but they are a net positive to the conference. Definitely not like Rutgers.

No love for that Delano Hill open field tackle? I'll take it as an oversight prompted by your infectious enthusiasm for where we're headed. Love to hear you guys having so much fun.

But are these downloadable?
If I was taking a road trip and wanted to listen to some podcasts on my iPod...would that be an option?

It's actually a smart play and one I've always wondered about. Why not put your best tackling safety or fastest linebacker back on Victory? What sense does putting a WR back there that never tackles? Smart smart move to put an actual defender there.

For years, Troy Polamalu played the deep safety position in the victory formation for the Steelers. I don't recall ever seeing him make a tackle, but if there'd been a turnover, he might have been able to prevent disaster.
