Someone Has Given Us A Radio Show
like this except we're Harbaugh and you're throwing gentler softballs [Fuller]
Alarming news about the US economy: bloggers will be on the radio. We are leading into the weekly coaches's show for the duration of football season. If things go well (ie: we get enough sponsors to at least break even) we'll look at continuing through basketball season.
WHAT | MGORADIO |
---|---|
WHERE | 1050 WTKA, streaming on WTKA.com |
WHEN | 5-7 Mondays, right before HARBAUGH |
THE LINE | Brian mispronounces last names -infinity |
TELEVISION | 50/50 FS2 shows up just because they need anything resembling content |
TICKETS | Uh |
WEATHER | mid 70s, 0% chance of rain, 100% chance of sputtering condemnation |
The first one is Monday. For now we're expecting this to be formatted much like the podcast, except people can call in and rant about vaccines causing Michigan's offensive line to get hurled into the backfield by angry Samoans.
This is not 'Nam, this is radio:
RULE NUMBER ONE: only ask one question, we forget the others.
RULE NUMBER TWO: don't say anyone is "just a winner."
RULE NUMBER THREE: make the sporps takes piping hot or don't bring 'em at all.
If you're interesting in sponsoring us, please get in touch with [email protected]; we're floating the show ourselves so it costs dollars.

I love Sam. I really do! But, man, during the roundtable sometimes I yell at my radio "why do you invite guests if you're not going to let them talk!"

This might sounds like a dumb question but 5-7 AM or PM?
I'll hang up and listen.
Serious question though.

Serious ? - now that Brandon is gone, it's less of an issue, but are you gonna have to tone down your takes on the ADs office given the relationship between WTKA and the school?

you live in the Ann Arbor area or in Hawaii. WTKA podcasts most of their programming, so I'm sure it will available for on-demand listening.
What's more, if these guys are doing a 2-hour show on Monday afternoons, it's going to impact blog content. So, take that into acount. And what's more, if you are producing a radio show, you do have to do a little more planning for content than your normal podcast, which wasn't always scheduled or aired at a specific time. Just whenever it became available.
So, there are both restrictions and considerations to concern yourself with in this enterprise. And if they do this, under the podcast format, there's no reason to do the podcast is there?
I would think that they will make the show available on the blog as Brian now does with the roundtable show, which was a very smart move, even for those of us wanting still more.
The problem with a Monday show is this: UFR's still come out later in the week. So, you won't get the more sobering review of Michigan football. That's OK, because Brian really needs to dial up the snark and do a college football TWIS segment instead along with their typical stuff and routines.

Can't wait to be the first "First Time Long Time" guy.

Awesome! Always wanted to call in!

My first question is going to be about how Brian keeps his tresses so silken.
On his beard I mean.

I haven't heard Bombs over Baghdad on the radio in a long time.

Big accomplishment, just goes to show how well you guys run this blog. I dont want to blow too much smoke up your asses but this is probably, if not the, best blog I view. Well done.
Enough praise, get back to work and entertain us.

You will be getting a lots of calls from the Mean Koala named Joe. I haz a happy! I'll be sitting in my jorts just calling and calling AND calling. I'll be very drunk obviously. Can I be the daily caller and have my own segment? Will the show be called the J Ira and Nicki Harris Family MGoRadio Show? I bet you all want to know what my voice sounds like. My first question will be (drum roll) "Is Oakland still in Play?" but then I'll ask some good questions after I get that out of the way.

WTKA has a podcast page that can be used on old-fashioned computer-type things. Can even listen live, if you're up early enough for Sam 'n Ira and MGoRoundtable.

This is fantastic. Can't wait to listen. One suggestion/request, though: please see if you can get the WTKA sound guy to either: a) use a compressor that also compresses the signal sent through the live stream, or, if he/she is already using one, b) increase its effect. The variance in volume among the different people in the studio makes it difficult to listen via the internet especially. There are times when one person seems to be legitimately 100% louder than others, which causes a lot of issues for those of us trying to find an appropriate volume at which to listen.
