Lane Kiffin may be the dumbest person on earth
That play call, when they got the ball back on the OSU 25, I can't even.
Alabama had success running the ball all night. The power sweep, they went away from, because, I don't know, it was working too well?
Can anyone think of another single play call that was that responsible for a loss in a bigger situation?
Every pass play they called on first down that wasn't a run disguised as a pass play was unforgivably stupid.
I can't even fathom Lane Kiffen's decision making in that game.
Credit to OSU - they fought hard and made the plays they had to - but they got some kind of assist from Kiffen.

He got a tad bit pass happy towards the end. All he had to do was pound the ball with Henry when OSU couldn't move the ball and they wouldve tied it up in the 3rd quarter.
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:33 AM ^
ALL FUCKING GAME!!!!
Henry was getting to the 2nd level nearly EVERY DAMN PLAY.
So you run Blake Fucking Sims, rolling out, which only happened to be a disaster EVERY SINGLE TIME.
Btw? The Pick Six? I called it BEFORE the damn play.
I knew Sims couldn't be trusted with this task.
On the plus side, MM can.

to sit next to whille watching a game.
January 2nd, 2015 at 9:48 AM ^
as frustrating as the game was, it was frequently hilariously frustrating - like watching Kiffin choose against the thing that was working all night and choose for the type of play that had been a disaster all night long.
So yes, the person sitting next to me had as enjoyable a time as anyone could have had watching a nightmare unfold in front of us.

If you can survive OSU winning a national title in 2002, this is child's play. If anything, watching Sparty comeback after Baylor went home after three quarters was more nightmarish.
January 2nd, 2015 at 5:52 PM ^
The Baylor collapse got things off to an awesome start - but if this is step one to those assholes winning the very first CFB playoff, that is one serious fucking nightmare.
I do think Bama was overrated - that whole SEC West turned out to be total bullshit - one terrible defense after another - but Meyer surely has a chance to push the bus across the line and that sucks.

Clock management was much more at fault than anything. I guess when you are MIGHTY ALABAMA OF THE ESS EEE CEE, you don't get into close games enough to practice your two minute protocol.
January 2nd, 2015 at 4:06 AM ^
if they had just exploited their huge advantage running the ball. Henry had 7.3 yards per carry!
Kiffin failed to utilize that:
- on the possession where they were up 21-6, with the ball
- on the play from OSU's 25
- on multiple first down calls when starting drives with good field position
- on first down after first down, period - I mean, how calamitious was that stupid rollout thing??? (or the drop back for that matter)
(run passes to the receivers and slants actually seemed effective all night)

'Bama should have run, run, run.

Nussmeier got too pass happy last year in the Sugar Bowl too... what the hell is up with that lol.
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:33 AM ^
There was another guy wide open in the end zone on that play. Good playcall by Kiffin, bad pass and decision by the QB.
Hard to beat up a OC when the team scored 35 points. The D was the real problem for Bama tonight.
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:34 AM ^
many short fields thanks to the defense early on.
Trust me, I've thought this one through, and this is all on Kiffen riding the wrong horse.
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:35 AM ^
You still put the ball in Blake Fucking Sims' hands, instead of running the GD ball in from the 25 when you were jamming the damn ball up their ass all damn night. Unreal.

January 2nd, 2015 at 1:47 AM ^
was saying that all night.
I cannot begin to explain how he let Kiffen fuck that up so royally.
I honestly do not think they could stop the run, don't think they ever would have stopped the run.
I'm just some jackass, and it was plain as day.

Yeldon had 10 carries for 47 yards. They did a decent job on him. Sims had 10 carries for 29 yards so they didn't get hurt by the QB on the ground. They gave up 537 yards and lost by 7 so overall it's hard to blame the offense. Give Lane a break.
January 2nd, 2015 at 5:58 PM ^
how you want to slice it. And if they had actually run the damn ball, Ohio State's offense might not have been on the field as much - and racked up less yards.
47 yards on 10 carries is not doing a good job on anyone. That is pretty much 2nd and 5 every time if you just run the damn ball on 1st down.
And Yeldon was hurt. Henry who wasn't hurt, has 7.3 yards per carry.
I'm not really seeing another side to this argument. They should have run the ball, particularly on 1st downs.
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:04 PM ^
that 'Bama didn't ride the horse named Henry to the win. He reminded me of Larry Czonka but faster, and why Henry wasn't used more bottles the mind.

Now, not even then! I had a better arm than Stave (Uncle Rico) when I was 18!
And yet, still, fucking Stave beat Auburn at the end. The SEC West was a steaming pile of shit, it turns out.
Henry got to the second level all night. Six yards per carry!!!
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:05 PM ^
And did it well until Johnson blew out his knee on that TD run.

Oregon's defensive yardage stats are always screwed up because (1) the ridiculous pace the offense plays at causes the defense to face more possessions and (2) the big leads they hold from about the second quarter on pretty much every game leads to opponents flinging the ball around in comeback mode.
If you use advanced stats, FEI has Oregon's defense at #18 and S&P has them #12.
January 2nd, 2015 at 11:21 AM ^
thought Oregon's defense was bad too and they and their heisman QB did nothing against it. Oregon's defense is fast. They'll be in the backfield before the handoff on a lot of plays. Oregon by 14.
January 2nd, 2015 at 12:09 PM ^
Winston did what he could with Oregon's defense and made some pinpoint passes. He can't do anything about the fact that his receivers couldn't hold on to the fucking ball.
Other than the "Charlie Brown" play where Winston fumbled when Oregon ran through the O-line (and Oregoon was up by 3 TD's at that point) Winston did the best he could...and had better sportmanship than the majority of his team.

Blake Sims SUCKS.

January 2nd, 2015 at 2:46 AM ^
What round will he be drafted? Oh, that's right, he won't be drafted because he SUCKS.
January 2nd, 2015 at 7:30 AM ^
Good grief, don't be an idiot just because you're mad that Ohio State won.
Sims's stats this year: 64.5% completions, 3487 yards, 28 touchdowns, 10 interceptions, plus 350 yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground.
I don't know if he'll be drafted or not, but saying he "SUCKS" only strengthens the point that you are drunk, exaggerating, or just dumb.

You either don't watch much football or aren't very smart. He became an excellent college quarterback.
January 2nd, 2015 at 6:04 PM ^
Alabama's ability to run the ball consistently, or Sims' ability to pass on that defense?
Certainly that answer was easy during the game, but I think it was easy going into the game.
I stated before the game that Sims was my number one worry in that game (along with knowing that Bama's DB's got torched against freaking Auburn) - so it was pretty frustrating to watch my worst fears play out.

on the running game.
2nd level all night long.
How many good throws did Sims make all night? The one when it was too late?
It wasn't a coincidence that Sims couldn't complete that pass.
January 2nd, 2015 at 1:36 AM ^
In his defense, there were TWO Bama WRs open for the TD. A better throw is complete to the intended WR, and there was a backside post that was had a 10 yard radius with no deffenders around him.

I've heard this from my Bama friends and get it......but if I was a Bama fan, I would be much more disappointed in Kirby Smart's performance than Kiffin's. (And I like Smart and think Kiffin is a world class asshole.)
