Jim Harbaugh on Michigan reaching out to him: "As a principle, I don't talk about any other job other than the one that I have."
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawakami/2014/12/08/jim-harbaugh-3/
-Q: Yesterday the NFL Network reported that the University of Michigan reached out to you and you expressed either directly or indirectly a desire to remain in the NFL. Did that occur?
-HARBAUGH: As I’ve said, as a principal, I don’t talk about any other job other than the one that I have. I’ve answered this question many times, even recently… so you know exactly where my priorities are.
I get this from the Marines–leaders eat last. My No. 1 priority is winning football games. Second priority is the welfare of our players, our coaches, all our staff, the welfare of our team.
And lastly is my own personal professional future.

I'll take it.

Does this mean there is still a ray of "hope" to have Jim Harbaugh as our next head coach?

Do you mean Bolivar, TN?

more than slightly encouraging. Yay us?

Take it how you want, but it's definitely not more than slightly encouraging. All he said was he isn't going to tell anybody anything. You guys are reading between the lines too much. You're making it was harder to remain calm during the coaching change.

atleast he hasn't said no outright yet.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:18 PM ^
Get out.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:22 PM ^
that was the wrong word. I probably should have left that off, but until it happens I'm trying to keep my hopes and sanity at a resonable level.

Time for the gif of him in the plane with the fuzzy hat.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:15 PM ^
The more likely he says yes. It also doesn't help him to say No - that just loses leverage.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:15 PM ^
and Harbaugh isn't confirming or denying that Michigan isn't talking to him...very much unlike the last CC.
This is a little bit of good news.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:16 PM ^
doing more than that - he's issuing a non denial denial.
IT'S HAPPENING [?]

did you see my screen name?...still an hour to go from my POV.
EDIT: OK, I'll revise that down to 150.

I happen to think this answer bodes very well for us. Best answer possible short of a "Yes, and I'll take it!"

The bad grammar ruins it.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:50 PM ^
I didn't make it, so meh.

Seriously?

This thread actually contains words from the man himself. It's one of the more usefull CC threads in the last week and a half.

Because things have gotten so insane that you're the insane one for not being insane.
But this is actually from the horse's mouth so it's not even that bad.

Sounds good to me! At least that means that UM really is talking to him and he never told Hackett to take a hike. At the same time this makes me really want to know who the hell is swimming in the other lanes.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:20 PM ^
Sounds like he is at least interested. If he wasn't, he would just say he isn't.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:53 PM ^
Either that or he is extremely into sticking to his principles.

Pretty circumspect (appropriately so). And, most importantly, it's not a "No." So basically it's a "Yes" (I hope). Go us!

I think one of the biggest reasons Michigan needs Harbaugh is because he would unite the fan base (for the most part). Everybody's number one choice is Harbaugh (save for a small number of Les Miles lovers). Past that and you have the entire fan base debating/arguing over who #2 or plan B should be. If Harbaugh falls through I'd hate to be the new coach, whoever that may be.....

YESSS!!!

This coaching search will be the death of me

Just what he should be saying, by not tipping his hand, he keeps hope alive.

"For God's sakes, quit worrying about your next job. Just do the best you can at the job you have now, and the offers will come. And when they do, if you have confidence in yourself you don't have to feel that you can't turn it down if it isn't quite right for you because you fear you'll never get another offer. You will. Wait for the right opportunity, and turn down all the rest. It will make all the difference.”

"I get this from the Marines"
So he's going to Navy?
This directly contradicts my one year old clearly saying 'Haw-Baw' yesterday.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:25 PM ^
That's a yes.
December 8th, 2014 at 3:27 PM ^
he's had multiple chances to put an end to any speculation and has not. let's just hope he isn't stringing us along! he wouldn't do that to bo's program right? right??

and Adam Schefter, a Michigan guy, said he's not going to Michigan. The Raiders is the most likely landing spot.
