he hopes to give him one. Dan may have other plans before that happens.

Time for Mora if Harbaugh doesn't come.

What is this fascination with Mora? He's lost every big game at UCLA and then some he shouldn't have any business losing.
Only exceptions to these are USC, but lets be honest USC is not the USC we all know and detest being Michigan.

Dude immediately revived a moribound UCLA program, which is kind of a big deal. He plays clean, understands elite public school academics, and develops NFL talent.
I'm a big fan of his and would rank him right behind Harbaugh on my candidate list: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/cc-jim-mora-jr-everything-michigan-needs

I still don't understand how people think Jim Mora Jr will come here when he turned down Texas two years ago and UW (his alma mater) last year.
Why don't we just pine for Saban and Gruden while we are at it???
December 7th, 2014 at 10:42 PM ^
Brian sure seems to think he's on the radar. His latest post indicated as much, so I wouldn't discount the possibility of Mora being interested in the Michigan job.

If Jon Gruden and Sean Payton and Bob Stoops are coming, Mora can too.

Hackett is Harbaugh or bust too (read bust as Schiano)

I think bust would be Jim Mora, Jr., in which case bust is not that bad either. Of course, Harbaugh trumps Mora any day.

....in such a scenario...

The article you linked does not say that Mullen is going to receive a contract extension.

Fixed the title to be more accurate. Good call

Coaching searches at major schools, like Michigan, also helps all the other good coaches get more $$$.

I already knew that it was backwards down there, but that's ridiculous.

You can't mix whites with other colors in Mississippi.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:26 PM ^
whether it is Mullen or others you have as your next-in-line preferences, is the fear of waiting on a JH decline. Or, as I think of it, the fear of Schiano.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:29 PM ^
Then we'll be stuck with the fear of John L Smith!
December 7th, 2014 at 9:28 PM ^
I don't think Mullen is a long term option 7-5 seasons up until this year. He'll either continue to go 10-2 and become a really hot name or he'll fall back to 7-5 again every year like Shiano.

At least do some research on these coaches before you pollute the board with your usual garbage.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:48 PM ^
Look at his wins up until this year. Kentucky, Tennessee, South Alabama, Vanderbilt, Arkansas under JLS. We can't have a one year wonder and we'd have to pay quite a bit to get him to come north so why not offer the money you'd have to offer him to proven long haul winners like Harbaugh and Miles?
December 7th, 2014 at 9:57 PM ^
I guess being the only coach to post an overal winning percentage above .500 at MSU since the 50's makes him a one year wonder.
December 8th, 2014 at 12:59 AM ^
His last three years brought him back down exactly to .500, but for his first 10 years, Jackie Sherrill had nearly the same success Mullen has had for his first six years at MSU (although Sherill actually won his division once).
