Good. Hopefully the only thing Lester hears is the announcement that Jim Harbaugh has been named head coach at MICH

There's a negative Nelly Lester that's been posting on this board - with negative points. Leslie Miles, is that you?
December 7th, 2014 at 9:13 PM ^
Lester, have you been a bad boy?
December 7th, 2014 at 8:01 PM ^
Positive news with regards to Harbaugh. Maybe we have a coach already lined up.
December 7th, 2014 at 8:22 PM ^
I'm confident Michigan fans could spin any news as positive Harbuagh news these days. "Mudslides in California? Good news on the Harbaugh front, since Mrs. Harbaugh hates muddy feet."
December 7th, 2014 at 8:37 PM ^
Not only is it delusional; it's bordering on pathetic.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:14 PM ^
With all due respect, that point is already passed and it's really frightening.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:26 PM ^
This is primarily a Michigan football blog and this is quite possibly the most important coaching search the program has ever undergone. We seem to be at a fork in the road where one direction is a proven coach who we hope can save us and the other is another decade of mediocrity.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:53 PM ^
Ongoing monkey rodeo? Who, us?
December 8th, 2014 at 7:30 AM ^
There is a third fork where we hire a lower profile guy with high potential who builds Michigan back into the premier program in the Big 10. Granted, this is a less likely scenario, but it is a possible scenario.
Agree that we have arrived at a crucial crossroads in the history of the program.
December 7th, 2014 at 9:16 PM ^
Heh, you posted "delusional" and "pathetic." Per my spreadsheet, those rank in the 98th and 99th percentile of adjectives used by Jim Harbaugh over the past 65 days. But of course you knew that already.
I see what you did there...
December 7th, 2014 at 10:36 PM ^
SW- wanna congratulate you on reaching a level many never play at

December 7th, 2014 at 8:03 PM ^
I would like to think he has at least been asked... Maybe this is a sign that Hackett is all in on Harbaugh, or maybe Les is lying.
I need to stop F5ing...
December 7th, 2014 at 8:04 PM ^
Or more realistically, that the general dislike for him that exists in the Michigan universe is real and the athletic department doesn't want to split the fanbase.
December 7th, 2014 at 8:10 PM ^
There are a lot of hardcore LSU fans here in NOLA who don't like Les, either. His mad hatter act is great when he wins, but it wears thin when he loses.
December 7th, 2014 at 8:18 PM ^
I guess 78% of the time the mad hatter act is okay then.

But I'm worried if our plan A (Harbaugh) falls through that we will go to plan C. Plan B was Miles or Mullen. I don't think Michigan is going to offer either of these SEC coaches the job. So, our only hope may be poaching a coach from a winning program like a Bob Stoops? I hope we don't end up with Schiano!

If he had been asked would he say anything?
December 7th, 2014 at 8:06 PM ^
December 7th, 2014 at 9:30 PM ^
This could be nonsense, but if Miles has really not been contacted, that would be disappointing.
December 7th, 2014 at 10:05 PM ^
If it's true, then it means:
A) Our AD is still disfunctional, or
B) Our AD has someone better lined up and does not need to go the Les Miles route with the associated baggage and theatre.
I'm sure we've learned our lesson. It has to be B), right? Right?
*crickets*
December 7th, 2014 at 8:07 PM ^
Coach X says he hasn't been contacted.
That is 110% true.
That doesn't say anything about what who has talked to his agent.
99 44/100% of the reporters, commentators, bloggers and analysts don't know anything about the search, and 120% of them know anything about the process.
And they're geniuses compared to the typical interwebs poster.

Yup. The image I have in my mind of the typical internet speculator/pontificator is this guy:

Nice job trying to play grammar Nazi but misquoting the very words you're trying to criticize.

And his agent can use that information to leverage a salary increase. Everybody wins!
December 8th, 2014 at 9:11 AM ^
So they mobilize their contacts at the Baton Rouge Advocate to try to get things spinning in the other direction.
December 7th, 2014 at 8:12 PM ^
He has heard from the "search firm" about the Michigan job.

For a football team that is said to have become nationally irrelevant, the dance with Harbaugh and other candidates has certainly piqued the interest of reporters all over the country.
Just goes to show ya.
Michigan is still a powerful job. We will get the right guy.
December 7th, 2014 at 8:24 PM ^
December 7th, 2014 at 8:16 PM ^
Of course, there is a distinction between "Les Miles says he has not been contacted" (as the journalist reported) and what your headline says.

similar in a different thread. Gamesmanship is alive and well.
I am not a certified Coach. However, I declined The Job as well. I just cannot leave my current position.

BTW: I love you tag line. I was at the DMZ (JSA and Dorsan Station) last week. The North have some crazy SOB's. I toured tunnel #3 and the North Koreans actually thought they could dig tunnels (4 in total) to invade the South.
