A Day in the Life of Jim Harbaugh
Since we've moved up our hopes for Jim Harbaugh from a scientifically accurate 0.49% a month ago to 4.32% today, thought I'd throw this story out from the 49ers website. I wonder if they are trying to put a happier face on Jim Harbaugh the human. :) It's a neat piece. Actually reminds me of Steve Jobs in a way - not only due to the black turtleneck but the way many close to him view him as sort of a total hard ass - but an effective hard ass who is at the top of his profession.
Also this other story was posted 3 weeks ago here, but I glossed over it since our chances of landing Jim had not crossed over the 1% threshold yet but I re-read it yesterday and it made me want to run through a brick wall. For Tigers fan this is a guy just like Justin Verlander who wants to destroy you even in a game of checkers. The money quote, from a speech he gave the 49ers pre-season:
"I will be your alarm clock and wake you early," he said. "It can be a great temptation to rest on the field and let the opponent have a play without making him pay for every inch. I must hold his pain where it is. Mine does not matter. ... The punishment I inflict, his fatigue, and that he is up against something that he does not comprehend is everything."
Yeah maybe the pros might scoff at this stuff after 4-5 years but I can only imagine a bunch of 18-22 year olds hearing this attitude from their leader.

Ok back to our regularly scheduled - sigh - reality.

If you exclude emails received from athletic directors to "friends of my aunt" that figure drops to 62.6%.
Boom!

Congrats to Dave Brandom. Michigan plays MSU tomorrow and I don't care. This post is actually more interesting than any posts about the game.

It was because of the athletic director that we find ourself in this situation. Had he hired the right coach, we wouldn't be fearing Sparty right now.

He's starting to look a bit pear-shaped. Dude has to start working out again or he's going to start looking Hoke-esque.

Shoots hoops like a girl.
Do not want.

He is definitely an 8 hours of sleep a night kind of guy. Only weirdos can operate on 6 hours
October 24th, 2014 at 8:01 PM ^
I routinely get 4-5 hours. That's why I look the way I do.
October 24th, 2014 at 8:29 PM ^
So you are just bone and Michigan apparrel?

Double Double

8 hours of sleep? For Jim Harbaugh? He'd never accept spending a third of a day without consciousness. He probably has some special oxygen bubble to sleep in that gives you a full night's sleep on three hours.

sure, if i combine a couple of days.
(weirdo turns away from computer after spending a few enjoyable minutes on mgoblog, walks from computer to barn and begins livestock feeding....)

Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up I noticed I was late*
Found my coat and grabbed my (M) hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
* as a Michigan man, I realize this is really bad as it is better to be three too hours early than one minute too late

I have to say that the only time you'll see me wearing khakis when taking out the trash is when the idiot inside of me forgot to take it out to the curb in my pajama pants the evening before trash day actually occurs. Definitely more organized and routine-oriented than I am in any case - I do respect that.

which he applies to both his opponents and his players. As a coach he has succeeded wherever he has been.
That attitude scares Brandon because JH approach will be the same with him.
October 25th, 2014 at 12:03 PM ^
And he's succeeded because he knows how to select good assistant coaches.
October 24th, 2014 at 8:05 PM ^
If the 49ers don't want him there are several NFL teams who would love to have him as their coach. I think at sometime down the road Jim will get sick of the NFL and will want to come coach at Michigan. This may be 6 to 10 years, so we need a good interim coach to fill in until Jim arrives!

A day in the life of Ron Artest was way more interesting.

To hear these words:
I'm pleased to introduce to you the next coach of the University of Michigan football program, Jim Harbaugh.......

There might be a "503 error" for about 24 hours if that day ever comes.
And once the site is back up, it will just be 83 consecutive muppet threads. I mean we'll be way past Gonzo and Kermit. I'm talking Doglion territory.

I'd be all:
"I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade"
IF JH ever said to M fans:
"I'd love to turn you on"

How about if he did it to Urban Meyer ? Urbs would no doubt squeeze some hot tears and cry to 11 Warriors.
